If Mitt can’t win Obama would be the only nice person left. And if McCain has the GOP wrapped up having conservatives vote for him in the Rat primaries might be the only chance to stop Hillary.

I always vote republican. Except for that one time I didn’t and I voted for the pro life 3rd party candidate(state election) and never again. Wasted my vote.
I will never vote for Hillary/Obama/Edwards/others. I’ll take my chances on the republican hoping he’ll at least come through on SCOTUS and WOT.
I don’t think McCain can win against Hillary or Obama. I think Guiliani and Romney had a shot. My husband disagrees. He doesn’t think Hillary or Obama could win in the general.
Have your won minute of gloat, Petronski, because that is all it will be. I will never vote for McCain, ever. You’ll see what you get, and I’ll keep you in mind regarding blame when the whole Republican house of cards comes crashing down. I have never been so disgusted with the Pub Party in my life. They, and McQueeg can both go to h*ll in a handbasket.

Well, there are the judges to consider. We go from slim chance to zero chance if the dims get in.
As to a “new Reagan” or even Bush for that matter, I don’t know if the soil that grew those type of guys even exists anymore.

Also a lotof Thompson voters voted early and then you got Huck drawing off votes. A wierd senario.

Linl “In Florida, only those who declare a party are allowed to cast a vote in that party’s presidential primary.
Nirenberg said he tried to explain to the poll worker that he should not vote on a party ballot because of his “no party affiliation” status.
Nirenberg said a second poll worker was called over who agreed that independents should not use party ballots, but said they had received instructions to the contrary.
“He said, ‘Ya know, that is kind of funny, but it was what we were told.’ I was shocked when they told me that.” Nirenberg said he went ahead and voted for John McCain.
When I heard this on the radio this morning, I thought that Drudge/Romney knew McCain would win. This story was probably an attempt to open the door to contest the results if the voting was close enough.
At any rate it's crap or get off the pot night.
Let me try it another way. OF EVERY candidate who was ever listed as even THINKING about Running for President, which one would get enough conservatives to win the nomination? And why weren’t they in the race?
Anyone can be drafted, but I am not sure Fred is interested. He would still have to campaign and he doesn’t care much for that.
True enough. Fred also had his weak spots. We have to go with the one who will do the least amount of damage. That one would seem to be--gagging as I say the words--McCaine at this time.
If I could still vote for Fred or Mitt, I would, but Conservatives have to admit that McCaine scored a big victory tonight. I know it's not over till it's over and all that, but I don't see Mitt or anyone else catching or passing McCaine on super-Tuesday. It looks like McCrazy is on the inside track to the nomination now (gnashing my teeth as I say this).
I'm not ready to write off the November elections yet. I think in recent years there's been a growing gap in outlook between the general electorate and us Freepers. McCaine might just pull in enough moderates to win the swing states. Still, it's going to be a hard sell, and when the media turn on him--as they will--who's going to stand by him? Conservatives? What goes around comes around.
How would he govern if he wins? (Gagging as I say that) Hmm....If he's smart, he'll pick folks like Kemp, et al, to run the economy. If there's a pragmatic bone in his body, he'll leave things to his supply-side advisors just as Klinton left things to Rubin & Co. Those guys weren't dummies. If McCaine is serious about cutting spending--big if--then he might just do some good. At least not as much bad as Billary will.
The country does seem to have changed somewhat. People just don't think like us anymore. I thought the amnesty revolt was a sign of something else, but maybe I'm wrong. Sigh....
