Part of me believes they may succeed in ripping the party to shreds in a butchered and deeply split fight over social and fiscal concerns.
Nice sentiment. But when used in connection with Republican events, it usually means to shut up and accept the unacceptable.
I've been a party officer, a significant contributor, and have run the GOTV effort for a major swing county for the Republicans. I resigned my post about a year ago because I would be obligated to support the Republican candidate as a party officer and it was likely the party was going to nominate an idiot who opposes almost everything I stand for.
It's becoming clear that I am in a minority that the R's are no longer interested in representing.
If McCain wins the nomination, my registration changes to Non-affiliated. I will continue to work on issues I care about. But I will not work for or donate to Republicans.
