Nice sentiment. But when used in connection with Republican events, it usually means to shut up and accept the unacceptable.
I've been a party officer, a significant contributor, and have run the GOTV effort for a major swing county for the Republicans. I resigned my post about a year ago because I would be obligated to support the Republican candidate as a party officer and it was likely the party was going to nominate an idiot who opposes almost everything I stand for.
It's becoming clear that I am in a minority that the R's are no longer interested in representing.
If McCain wins the nomination, my registration changes to Non-affiliated. I will continue to work on issues I care about. But I will not work for or donate to Republicans.
Still, there's some small consolation in the knowledge that they think enough of you & I to figuratively beat the crap out of us should we show anything less than slobbering allegience to their RINO of choice.
I am under no illusions that such a thing would be likely to occur. This party is well on its way to becoming hollow. It has no national party discipline, no strategic plans, no unified vision. It seems that most of its Federally elected members act more out of personal desires or narrow special interest influences. There is no cohesion or single strong party leader. It is, in my opinion, adrift, rudderless and bound to split faction-ally and hemorrhage members.
