South Florida voters took to the polls in force Tuesday, setting the stage for what may be a record turnout for a primary election and deciding a make-or-break race for Republican presidential hopefuls. Early reports showed few problems at polling precincts.

Since the Dems are not seating delegates, what keeps a Dem from going over to cast a vote for McLame?
It isn’t the same, Neil. I doubt the story...and even if it did happen, I am sure it isn’t happening all over.
When I moved here I was registered Independent. And I was mad as hell when I found out I couldn’t vote in a primary.
So I switched to Republican.
Vote Romney.
If they think “the fix is in”, they are IN FOR a huge fight. “Movement conservatives” are not the sort who roll over and play dead under any sort of phony “unity” banner. Those days are sooooo OVER!
Some FReeper needs to go to that polling station and straighten those poll workers out. Oh, and tell them they are being watched on the Web but the BIGGEST forum on the Net.

Nod. I’m voting Huckabee on exactly that reasoning. Keep the RINO’s and “annointed” from locking this thing up.
They check your registration, and if you’re registered Dem you’re given a Dem ballot. Republican candidates are not on the Dem ballot, and write ins are not allowed.
Could be because Florida rat votes won't count this time, unless Hillary gets to change the rules,.
Heres more for your repertoire from the disgruntled leftists in Mass who complained last May in the NY Times about their vote for Romney:
NY Times thecaucusblog/Comments section [Mass. voters talking about Romney on May 11, 2007]:
.. he stated that he supported gay rights, but then attempted to have a Constitutional ammendment added to the ballot to have gay marriage banned in the state. ..
I firmly believe that hell change his mind and go agree with his base if hes elected just like he did on the abortion rights issue. ..
.I will never forget when he vetoed the stem cell legilation after the bills sponsors had worked so hard at generating bi-partisan support. And he vetoed the bill ...
...If you want to know what Mitt is really about, please try to find his speeches to the Federalist Society to see what hes really made of. ..

What is the Federalist Society?:
...the Federalist Society, the expanding network of conservative lawyers who over the past quarter-century have played a leading role in reshaping the nations judiciary and setting high-level Republican administration policy. ..
[...]
..One of the groups founding fathers was Edwin Meese, who would soon become attorney general under President Ronald Reagan. Olson was part of that Justice Department, and so was Giuliani, who served as its third-highest official. The plan was to sow talented conservatives at every level of the federal judiciary and ultimately gain a foothold at the Supreme Court. That was very much on our minds, Olson said.
It appears to be working as planned. When he took office in 2001, Bush leaned heavily on Federalists to create a legal power structure to continue the work of seeding the judiciary. Roberts, along with fellow conservatives Alito, Scalia and Thomas, now form a formidable bloc on the Supreme Court.

Split among GOP camps
But as the Federalists have grown, they havent been immune to internal fissures. Federalists have key figures in both the Romney and Thompson campaigns who believe their candidate is a more worthy vessel for their legal philosophies. And they say they havent had to make the sort of compromise that Giulianis conservative supporters have.
David McIntosh, a former Indiana GOP congressman and gubernatorial candidate, is vice chairman of the Federalist Society, and hes a domestic policy adviser to Thompson. Douglas Kmiec, another high-ranking official in the Reagan Justice Department, has gone with Romney, whom he calls authentic.

Romney appointed homosexual activists to the bench in Mass. No sale.
I agree, someone needs to go to that precinct and raise Hell.
FREEP THAT STORY!!!
What’s South Florida the 51st state?
I just raised hell in the Sun-Sentinel comments section for this story. I URGE everybody here to FReep that story by posting your complaints there.
Please tell everyone on that FL FReeper PING LIST to FREEP that story in the comments section as I just did.
Now I can plug my phone back in.
7-8 calls a day for the past two weeks has been a bit much. Yesterday hit an all-time high with 12 calls.
Still left the phone plugged into my DirecTV for caller ID just in case someone important called I could call them back on my office phone, but didn't have to put up with the ringing.
FREEP that comments section. I left 2 comments there protesting the fact that Coral Springs poll workers allowed an independent to vote on a Republican ballot.
After Fred Thomson bailed out, I am in big dilemma as who to vote for today!!!
JMHO, of course. Overall, a sad day for conservatives.
Anybody but McCain:)
