Rudy Giuliani appears to be pondering an end to his long pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination.
In a meeting in the back of his chartered plane en route to St. Petersburg, Fla., a short while ago, the onetime, longtime GOP front-runner told a small group of reporters, including The Times' Louise Roug: "The winner of Florida will win the nomination."

Julieannie shouldn’t just “hint” at dropping out, he should shout it out at every press conference he has. He was never cut out to win the GOP Presidential race because he really isn’t a Republican.
Yeah, but then even the WAnkers got sick of the Rooty Rooters, so they got banned from there too!!
And take Huckabee with him.
I'm hoping Rudy stays in the race until...Wednesday so we can enjoy watching him get beat out for a distant fourth place by mighty, mighty Ron Paul.
pro’ly the former. That sounds like what McCain was trying to do to Mitt about his “timeline” comment. The Slimes guy is reading an awful lot into that remark. Then again, he got to see the body language “context.”
The reason Fred did not endorse McCain is because McCain slid into the cesspool of liberalism the last 7 years -— and Fred moved to much more of a principaled right.
It is if you support Romney
I think this is just the L.A. Times trying to bump the McCain vote.
Read the article, it could be taken a lot of ways. The ground in Florida doesn’t jive with the polls and likely because there is so many absentee ballots and the voters are sick of robocalls.... a person only needs to look at the photos from Florida and the crowds compared to McCain and Romney. Something stinks to high heaven and it deserves a deeper investigation into the motives of the media and pollsters.
Rudy is an abortionist/gay rights activist who was being touted early on as the GOP front runner. At least all the other Republicans in the race claim to be pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-borders. The pro-abortion Rudy being routed is a BIG victory for conservatism. Hurrah!!
He really didn't skip NH. He was here, often, in the spring and early summer. He ran ads.
He wasn't doing well, and then decided to focus elsewhere. His campaign spun it as "skipping NH," which is simply inaccurate. But it still was an incredibly inept campaign, for someone who supposedly possesses great "leadership" skills.
“Seems like Rudy will win NY and NJ and California if arnuld manages to endorse someone other than Hillary or Obama”
How does it seem like that? McCain leads Rudy by an average of 9 points in New York, 15 points in California and 3 points in New Jersey in the recent polls.
Guiliani is toast unless he can gain some momentum by winning Florida. And he won’t.
Total BS
Rooty Toot will certainly stay in until Wednesday, his name is on the ballot and all of the money has been spent.
That’s kind of what makes this fun to post. A lot of people here want Rudy to drop. On the other hand, it is the LA Times......
The polls do not reflect early voting. We have been voting here since January 13th and up until a couple of days ago Rudy was the only one here. If the reports of up to 40% already cast are true then the polls are not taking into account a substantial amount of votes.
If he had done that when she first ran - he would have been a shoe in - or even in the last election - and saved us from her now - After 8 years out the WH - people would be saying "Hillary who?"
But he had more grandiose plans - and he lost us a golden opportunity to turn the Clinton's out to pasture...
His political days may be over...
You may be right, but it would be a relief to see Giuliani gone.
