Add that statement from Huckabee to the one where he said that the Constitution is a “living and breathing document” which is typical liberal code to mean that it can mean anything they want it to mean.

This would be correct according to Baptist beliefs. Baptists are big on separation of religion and state.

Amazing that the Huckster is trying to pretend that he supports and understands the Constitution/Bill of Rights.

IMO HUCK is the only lying politician running for president who
believes that Jesus is the son of the living God. So if Ginsberg or
Stevens et.al. resigns, Huck won't back down trying to overturn Roe.
So I believe.

Don’t mean to be preaching to the choir, but if there are any uninformed out there:
The First Amendment prohibits Congress from establishing a Federally mandated approved religion for the country. On the other hand, states are free to do so for their state, unless their constitutions prohibit them from doing so. In the early years of America, some states had state sanctioned religions.
The Dope from Hope hits the populist high note again, shedding heat, but not light, on an important topic.

No time to mince words. Don't be a chump --
The Constitution does indeed allow us freedom **from** any mandate to have any belief system whatsoever. Huckabee isn't the droid you're looking for. Move along.

From the clip it is clear that when he says “freedom from religion,” he is speaking of an individual’s right not to believe in God. He then goes on to say that for someone to say it is inappropriate for those with faith to speak about God in the public square defies our civilization, our culture and our citizenship.
You have mischaracterized what he is saying.

Sorry Huck, but freedom FROM religion isn't a right. If it was it would be a right to suppress the free exercise of other people's religion. I'm pretty sure that Huckabee was talking about freedom from government enforced religion. That would be something like a Federal law requiring church attendance or taxes on unbelievers.
In that sense, he would be correctly describing an individual right. And I'm pretty sure that's what he was getting at.

Freedom from every religion except his. Come on. It is freedom to believe what you want without the government telling you what to believe or suppressing your beliefs. Freedom from religion implies the suppression of the practice of beliefs. The operative phrase is freedom of not freedom from.
