There was an interesting tactical move in evidence by McCain tonight. He recited a littany of names from the past . . . Jack Kemp, Phil Gramm, etc. These are very old names.

The interesting part of the tactic is that it risks reminding people of his age, but it also is intended to resonate with the Florida senior population.

Front runners don’t take those risks. His polling must show Romney ascendant.

Not so sure. He dropped those names all in a single answer to Ron Paul's question. Paul hit him with an economic question on some Federal agency or something and I don't think McCain had a clue what he was getting at so he fell back on this rambling answer about all these old time eoncominc guys he had around him to handle all that stuff. I saw him using the name dropping as a recovery attempt from a fumble.

McCain seemed a little lost there, almost like a senior moment, where he was reciting names to prove he could.
