CLEARWATER - The 75-year-old grandmother who was arrested Thursday at a McDonald's on a charge of disorderly conduct gave an officer lip, according to a police report. Jean Merola swore at the officer and said, "You are an evil man. Your wife is going to divorce you. Your kids probably hate you too. You are going to hell," according to the report.
Officer Matthew Parco was behind Merola in line and had received his drink; he asked her to move up so he could get around her but she didn't respond. Parco spent about 20 minutes asking Merola to move the car before she was arrested.

Here we go again
Parco spent about 20 minutes asking Merola to move the car before she was arrested.
20 minutes on the taxpayer dime being a jerk.
A sad situation the police officer put this lady in due to his power trip.
LOL.
It was the drive-through. My assumptions were wrong.
Sad situation that law enforcement can’t deal with a crotchety old ladie without having to arrest her.
At least he had the good sense not to Tase her.
She was lucky!
Conversely, a sad situation the old lady put this police officer on her power trip.
Her car was blocking his car in.
I guess they don't train some posters to comprehend the story before they post.
I’m not quite sure how one is to “step around” when one is sitting in a vehicle, blocked by the vehicle in front.
They didn't get her fries done in 20 minutes? Sounds like someone else needed to be arrested by Parco.
The police officer was behind her in the line at the WINDOW - it is difficult to get around a car if there are other cars in the line behind you. This Police Officer was well within his rights - many of us wish we could do the same thing when some jerk refuses the simple courtesy of pulling ahead just enough to let the person behind them out while they wait for their “Special Order” that ends up taking about 20 minutes. I say good for the officer.
Having said that, I don't think any of that is against the law. If her car wasn't interfering with his officcial duties as a peace offer (if he didn't need to get around her to respond to a call) then she shouldn't have been arrested. It's just not against the law to be a vindictive crank.
If she was ever in front of any of us in the line, we wouldn't be able to make a citizen's arrest to get her out of the way. We would just have to fume and take it.
And how did it take over 20 minutes to get her the fries with no salt, so that she could move on off the premises?
She pulled the "Don't you know who I am? I am friends with the police chief!" bit and then she refused to move her car unless the chief of police personally arrived at the scene to ask her.
This is private property and as I understand the people told her to wait there for her order. But of course one must understand that the SS or KGB has the authority to kill you if you do not move when they say so. Good thing she was not shot or run over.
She had gotten her food according to a report yesterday. She still refused to budge out of stubbornness...I guess.
The McDonalds Manager agreed with the police according to the article.
She got her fries pretty quickly. She decided to continue the argument
LOL
