Plus Fred looks older than dirt. We want someone young enough to run when the next president’s term is up.

I don’t think Thompson wants to be anyone’s VP, and I don’t think any of the likely nominees would pick him. However, he would help Romney in the South and Midwest. Huckabee would, too, but Huckabee would bring more negatives than Thompson would in the rest of the country.
