"If we want to WIN, we have to work WITHIN the Party Processes, and COMPROMISE with those we call RINO’s to advance any kind of a conservative agenda. We are but a small slice of a much bigger pie, and we must all work together..."

Whatever you say noobcomradeloser....

You were saying that you heard something on FOX news last night. Others were disputing what you heard.

I asked you for the link.

considering the fact that this is a Fred thread, and not a Mitt thread, perhaps the gloaters could try backing off.

Never stopped them before...

A “conversion of convenience” means he has not really come to the right side.

It also means he understands the importance of pleasing conservatives.

If he governs with that understanding, then it will still be a fairly conservative administration regardless of what he personally believes.

Contrast that with McCain, who will spit in the face of conservatives if it meant getting brownie points with the belt-way media.

I was for Duncan Hunter, but now I am solidly behind Romney. I know he has his issues, but I at least trust him more than McCain. Most Mormons I have know are very honest, family oriented and hard working. Looks like Mitt to me.

It will be interesting to see how the Mormon issue plays out. Will it turn voters off or be an interesting novelty? (No offense to any Mormons here on FR.)

Their theology weirds me out a little, but on a practical level they seem decent and upright. I wish people of my faith (Roman Catholic) would have kids the way Mormons do. Mormons are the most "Catholic" group in the U.S. when it comes to reproducing themselves. God bless'em!

I find it inspiring when my opponents blatantly contradict themselves while posting a substance lacking retort.

To me the difference is that Romney will at least pander to conservatives even if he isn’t sincere about being a conservative.

That makes me like Romney even less.

That’s good, lol.:)

Well, it is a closed primary, with only registered Republicans that can vote, so I’m praying that will help.

Interesting.

Now we have to look at who can we get behind to avoid 4-8 more years of the Clinton’s.

That seems the most horrible scnario of all!

This idea that we should just let the secular socialists ruin the country for 4 years and somehow hope we can survive it seems too dangerous and these people don’t know who they’re really dealing with!

Shrillary is FAR FAR more dangerous than Bubba, IMO!

“For what it is worth here is a FR opinion poll from October last year.(10/23) Who would you vote for if you were not afraid that your candidate might not win?

If Thompson’s supporters go to Romney, he will win Florida easily.

I agree. I'm just concerned the uninformed ones will go to Huckabee. Many Christians mistakenly think that Huckabee is a conservative because he is a Christian. Many of my friends were shocked that not only do I not support Huckabee, I would NEVER vote for him, under any circumstances.

I learned my lesson from the past eight years. I was a huge George Bush supporter, and I thought compassionate conservatism was the "right" thing. After the illegal immigration issue, AND being educated on Free Republic, I now understand that "compassionate" conservatism is just another form of socialism.

Hunter was my candidate, but I can support Romney and I believe that he can beat any of the Democrats running.

I think after FL, Rudy finishes third and it’s a two man race between McCain & Romney. Whether or not the other candidates realize it.

I think you are right, that is why I said to the person that wanted to know how to get rid of McCain, his only option would be if Rudy wins Florida. It is a long shot, but if McCain beats Rudy, I think due to the Super Tuesday primaries, McCain automatically becomes the front runner. If Rudy wins, Rudy has become so weakened, Mitt could still pull it out. But I don't see him doing it if McCain is the front runner.

The dynamics of this race are McCain is taking Rudys votes, just as Huck took Freds, and vice versa. As Fred saw, both he and Huck could not remain viable, and Fred folded first. Same thing with Rudy and McCain, both can not remain viable, and Mitt although he is in the best place right now, only remains there as long as the other candidates are trying to kick the other out. As soon as it is a two man race, in my opinion either Mitt vs McCain, or Mitt vs Rudy that is when people will decide. It is up to Mitt supporters to decide, in Florida, who they would rather go up against either Rudy or McCain, because it won't be both for long.

If Mitt wins Florida, Rudy is still out, but McCain will stay strong.

Look, I know you mean well and I appreciate your dedication to remaining a loyal republican supporter.  For most of my life I accepted that as pretty much my mandate as well.

What I had to start asking myself was, what were the folks I was voting actually doing with my support.  And then I had to acknowledge that many times they were destroying the values I support.

Please read this post of mine and see if it makes any sense to you.  If it doesn't, that's okay.  It just relates what I see.

BS. The one who wasn't in it to win was Hunter Duncan. He didn't even try.

Petronski, once again you prove that you have absolutely no class at all.

I'm holding that extra gurney for you in the WAAAAmbulance, you do remember that don't you?

To all other Fredheads I offer my condolences, sympathies and respect. But to you Petro?

It's Schadenfreude all the way baby. :)

The one dressed up in an “elephant suit” is John mcCAIN, the “maverick.” He is dangerous on both a political and personal level. Imho, our focus needs to be on preventing HIM from becoming the nominee.

I think he should have waited until after FL, and a real test of GOP voting strength. But I wish I didn't have to say - as I did before he threw his hat in - that he didn't have the ganas for it.
