Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

If Romney really wanted to court Fred supporters, he would issue a statement within the next few hours praising Thompson for his consistent, conservative values, and call him a good man who put country before self during his run.

Free Republic is always a little ahead of Rush.

I’m sure his people have read this thread by now.

Fred’s statement was posted on This Thread Here.

If you read the whole thread before posting lots of times questions are answered.

Optimism doesn’t mean a thing. People are crying out for real significant change, they don’t need a Dr. Feelgooder telling them it’s going to be alright. Romney represents the status-quo and our nation will continue its drift into socialism. He is also weak on national security, border security, abortion....again, this is a man who tried to out-liberal Ted Kennedy, and who rejected the Reagan years in that race.

Well, he couldn’t, could he? If he could, where are the votes? Show me the votes.

A very sad day. I don’t know that Fred is interested in a VP slot, but it’s my hope that if he is he’ll pair up with Mitt and be his Dick Cheney ....

“I feel just as miserable as any one here, but healing will take place if we all start looking forward to victory in November, not back to this black day.”

I am NOT a negative type...not a doomsdayer...but without a REAL conservative in the race...we will lose...period.

NONE of the ones left can beat the democrats...none of them....(maybe...and I MEAN maybe McCain...but he perhaps could be Hillary, but not with a majority of GOP base voters).

A McCain victory will be the end of the Republican Party, and perhpas the birth a a VIABLE third party.

“You might not agree with McCain on everything, but never call him a traitor!”

I wouln’t go so far as call him a traitor - but no one can deny he has been an OBSTICAL. Standing in the way of the GOP platform lock arm with Democrats every chance he could.

“All these Mittwits that think the Thompson voters are going to run to Mutt freaking Romney are smoking crack!
An anti-gun pro- queer agenda NE liberal puke wont be getting many of those voters!

I expect now the NRA will get up off its a$$ and endorse Huckabilly and the NRTL will likely do the same.

I no longer care who gets the nomination as long as it isn’t one of the NE liberal puke twins!”

Now tell us how you really feel. The truth is your candidate ran a joke of a campaign. You can take your ball and go home, ie. not vote and we’ll get a President Hillary. Thanking you in advance.

Exactly!!! Didn't they learn anything, from the elections in 2006?

No, not exactly, unless the 'they' to which you refer is the GOP. It is quite obvious that they learned nothing from 2006. When I refer to the GOP, that includes the electorate as well. They are as responsible as the party elites and machinery. This country has survived a great deal and I am sure it will survive this.

“Oh, it will get worse. Watch Mittwit pick Huckwad for the VP slot.”

Sorry, that ain’t gonna happen. Huckabee hates Mormons and I think Romney is much smarter than that.

Hope someone grabs that as a tagline.

You do realize that most Americans want the troops to come home, right? How will Romney or McCain win over the independents?

Americans want to WIN this war and THEN bring the troops home. Surrendering when the war is 95% won is not a winning strategy. If Americans wanted a surrender monkey, they had ample opportunity to vote for one in 2004.

MOST AMERICANS didn't then, and they won't now, no matter how much real estate RiP vandingleberry covers with his signs.

No, I won’t call McCain a traitor. But he has pissed me off so many times that I can’t hardly stand to look at the man. And that’s a fact.

You are either with us or against us............. some of you need to take a long hard look at what is most important for your children and grandchildren.

The future is up to us and if we sit on our hands and pout that is all we will get... sore butts and a lame bottom lip.

“Sorry, but a President Clinton won’t be the fault of the conservatives who endorse Hunter or Thompson- it will be the fault of those who settled for a candidate based on image, style and political expediency.”

Towing the party line has brought us no conservative candidates. Just like not donating to the GOP because of immigration, we are going to have kick our own party’s teeth in to get them to listen to us.

I am not a moderate, and I will not vote for a moderate. This country doesn’t need anymore wolves in sheeps’ clothing.

I hope everyone enjoys their voyage on The Hindenburg.
