I spoke to one of my Thompson sources.
He's still with his ailing mother. "He's just being a good son."
He has not spoken to any other campaign or any other candidates, nor does he intend to at this time.
He will not endorse, I am told by this source close to Thompson.
I am also told, "he has no interest in a vice presidency or a cabinet position."
[snip]
At one point, I asked this source if the attitude was, 'if you can't be Reagan, be Goldwater,' and the source responded, "exactly."

Please ping the FRedheads.
He needs to stay in. However, he needs to tell all of his supporters he’s staying in NOW!!!!!!! This waiting isn’t doing a darn bit of good. Of course, by not saying anything he’s actually getting more press than he has ever gotten. He may know what he’s doing. GO FRED!!!!!!!
It’s a sad day.
FRed’s Jan. Purge???
I like fred but he has behaved in this odd manner from the beginning. I wish he would have done better but...his laid back attitude didn’t help anything. I don’t know why he wasn’t more aggressive but he should have been. I hate to see him go but...I think it is the right thing at this point.
Prayers for his mother and for Fred and his family at this difficult time in their lives.
So much for the *uckabee liars who claimed FRed would endorse John McCain.
Their day of reckoning will come.
Fred wasted our time. He talked like his script writers were on strike. All in all, it was just a gig. He did not have Reagan’s heart for the job.
Fred’s personality and style just aren’t cut out for modern political warfare, especially against the Clintons. Alot of good men avoid politics for the same reasons Fred obviously hates “the game.” You can respect him for that, but also be pissed at him for getting our hopes up.
In the mean time I will be waiting for Hucks announcement he is dropping out and endorsing McCain any day now.
When is McCain going to drop out and endorse Hillary?
Prayers for his mother. It is understandable, yet sad, if he has to drop to help take care of his family. With Hunter out, if Fred drops, finding a real Conservative will be hard.
Right before Hillary drops out and endorses Romney.
No chance of that. Huck will continue to build as much Christian Right power as he can, then try to force himself of the ticket.
God bless him and his mother. I’ll respect the decision he makes, and I’m glad he isn’t going to endorse one of the liberals.
Time to face reality, FredHeads. Thompson will be gone by the end of the week. It doesn’t really matter who he endorses, most of his votes should migrate to Romney.
I agree. Fred wasted our time. Presidential candidates do not have the luxury of taking time off for “family issues”. What would happen if he is president and one of his kids got sick during a crisis???? Time to move on to a more serious candidate who thinks of the country more than his immediate family.
I agree, if he drops out, that is the only direction I can see going right now.
It matters not if FRed does bail. What matters most is that a lying, flip-flopping, RINO, baby killer, is not elected by Conservatives.
