“Fred is my only choice. Otherwise I am just sitting this one out. I am tired of having to settle for 2nd or 3rd choice every year.”

I gotta say that I have three children who when they don’t get their way sound an awful lot like you. It’s tough to not get what we want - especially if we are convinced that it is best. HOWEVER, sometimes, you just gotta make do. To act otherwise becomes a rather immature response.

I have been a voter for 30+ years. I honestly cannot recall voting for a Rep or Dem I ever felt comfortable with. A couple votes were just the lesser of two evils.

Now I have voted for Perot and John Anderson as 3rd party candidates. Sure, they didn’t win. But my vote went where my principal led me.

When we go shopping for a car, we expect many models, many brands, and many colors. With a President, we get two choices, no options, same color, and the ride is just as rough as the car we traded in. How can we consider that we even have a choice, when we really don’t??

Thank you David for saying it the way it is. All of us here in FreeRepublic have opinions and I certainly respect them. But I can’t imagine how anyone with all the stakes in this election could even contemplate sitting it out. We have the radical jihadists trying to kill us. The war on terror and the border.

We have the Supreme Court which will definitely have at least one to two nominations in the next four years. Never mind all the judicial appointments the next president will make.

We all saw what the conservative base of the republican party can do. We stopped Harriet Myers and we stopped that crazy immigration reform fiasco.

We can stop mostly anything that comes along from a president or congress. Between talk radio and the American people we can do it.

Why then sit at home, like a spoiled child and let this country fall in the hands of these two liberal communists. Because that is what they are. Any way you slice it they will destroy this country or do so much damage, it will take us years to reverse their destruction.

As I said I respect all the opinions on this board but for the love of God go vote. Don’t sit at home. It is too important.

DITTOS on this.

I have children. Voting flippantly or not at all is not an option, for my children’s sake.

The most conservative candidate standing in the race right now, who can beat Proamnesty-antiBushtaxcuts-proCO2caps-CFR-RINO John McCain is Mitt Romney.

Fortunately, it is not a ‘lesser of two evils’ choice, because Mitt Romney is the most superb, articulate and smartest candidate running in many years, and the most genuinely family-oriented. For conservatives - he is a more conservative candidate than G W Bush and than we’ve had since Ronald Reagan. He promises to keep a lid on spending, something he did in Massachusetts. He promises to enact tax rates cuts to keep us out of recession. He has good market-oriented answers on energy, healthcare and other Democrat hot-buttons. And he’s prolife and profamily, with a real awesome family to show for it. Maybe that is why the press keep trying to keep him under wraps.

Mitt Romney will make a very good President. Let’s support him.
