Well it’s more of my generation than yours, but it’s probably fodder worth considering...
The pro-child attitudes of this generation are very apparent to me in my real estate dealings. Lotsa 4 child families (and beyond) being planned.
Good for them.
That's one word for it I guess.
Did I wake up in a different world this morning? Is this still 2008? I am THRILLED to read this article. I thought it would take so much longer to happen.
For most people, having a child is a life changing experience—it is when many REALLY cross the threshold into being an adult. Its when you realize its not all just about YOU. In a sense, some of your dreams do die, but it also brings a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment most childless will never know. Too many people consider children to be a nusiance/distraction and try to fill the void in their lives by chasing $$ and stuff. I lost count of the number of high achievers I know who have opted out of the gene pool to focus on their careers. Many of those wake up in their late 40s & older to find out that they missed out on an essential part of life that all the restaurant meals, vactions, cars & mini-mansions can’t replace. In the end, children are your ticket to immortality more than any other thing you accomplish. Just my 2 cents.
“America’s young people, pro-life is in.”
This is true to a point. My oldest (18 yo) has stated that while kids that age are still hacing sex, they are being a lot smarter and using protection than previous generations.
Isn’t it great to see movies about 16-year-olds and unmarried women getting drunk and getting knocked up? That’s really something to cheer for.

The younger folks today give some reason for hope. In general (it’s always dangerous to generalize), their sense of sexual morality is unbelievable. But they’re *not* in favor of infanticide.
I remember being in my late teens and early twenties and I don’t recall that the sense of sexual morality was particularly great then, either.
I’m beginning to see the logic in having children marry earlier than has been the norm the past few generations.
My boys - now 23 and 19, and my brothers children are quite conservative in their mral attitudes. They are however very different to the way we were. They are extremely self confident (a bit too much if you ask me) and they tend not to fret about bills too much but on the whole they certainly are interesting. Oh they are also very hard working - which is one up on me!

I work at a 400 person company where most people are under 40. The 30 and younger crowd (including me) are way more conservative. In my experience (in the Boston area) it seems like there is a definitive line, almost uncanny, IMHO, that those born after 1975 start to get more conservative - on a lot of, but not all, issues.
I think the workplace is a good guage of people as a whole because of the varied backgrounds there.
