McCain Is A Train Wreck For The GOP
America Talks ^ | 1/20/08 | David Zublick

Posted on 01/20/2008 1:58:52 PM PST by AmericaTalks

John McCain's clinching of the primaries i n New Hampshire and South Carolina indicates that the GOP has serious problems. McCain is the least conservative of all of the Republican contenders, yet somehow his message appears to be resonating with disenfranchised voters.

McCain's win puts him in a position to trounce all comers in the Florida primary January 29th and Super Tuesday on February 5th. But his lack of the values conservatives espouse could spell disaster for Republicans who want to make sure that a true alternative to the liberal rhetoric of Hillary and Obama is offered.

Until now, there has been no frontrunner in the GOP race, with Huckabee winning the Iowa caucuses, Romney winning lower-profile Wyoming, Michigan and Nevada primaries, and McCain taking New Hampshire and now South Carolina.

Now admittedly Romney has the highest delegate count so far, but things could quickly change in the days ahead, which could spell trouble for those of us who wanted almost anyone but McCain.

How much longer Mike Huckabee will be able to hold on is uncertain. But Huckabee was counting on a clear victory from conservative Christians which he didn't get, largely from the undecideds. He's still a contender, but he is beginning to falter. Depending on how Giuliani does in Florida, his campaign could tank, and Fred Thompson is now on life support.

Which leaves us with McCain. He is a true war hero, and a fine man. But he is not a fiscal conservative, not a hawk when it comes to foreign policy, not a friend of those opposed to illegal immigration, and his campaign finance reform bill soured many in his party to anything else he might have to say.

Should McCain survive and become the nominee of the GOP, he will have truly risen from the dead. But like the old saying goes, his light at the end of the tunnel could be the headlights of an oncoming train wreck which might propel a democrat into the White House this November.

"McCain—another GLOBALIST politician, like Hillary and Obama. And in the pocket of the Albanian mafia-front lobby as well."

McCain is traitorous piece of dog vomit, who made his name on bombing Christians in favor of Islamists -- and I have never use word "traitor" lightly.

McCain is the one and only Republican that I absolutely will NOT vote for in November!

“I get so sick of the whiners who go after McCain on CFR and amnesty yet give Bush a pass.”

The issue is the 2008 election, though. It is not like there was going to be a GOP primary in 2004, and many of us have been screaming about the current administration for quite some time.

Recall that in 2000, the GOP primary choice was between McCain and Bush (and Keyes). Not much of a choice, and Bush had raised a ton of money early on just on his name.

“How so? It is irrelevant who is his VP. McCain makes the decisions, his VP is only for window dressing (attending funerals etc). Are you seriously saying that his VP can convince McCain to make policy changes, such as reject Amnesty?”

I agree totally with this, but there is a higher-than-normal chance that a McCain VP would become president during McCain’s term.

More generally Freepers need to remember that the current power/participation that Cheney exercises in this administration is unprecedented and also something we may not see again in our lifetimes. I have read comments by Harry Truman implying that he had less idea what was going on in policy areas during the months he was VP *in the middle of a war and knowing damn well he would become president soon* that it is evident that Cheney does now.

McCain is another Bob Dole. Dole felt he earned and deserved the nomination. Dole was too old for the job.
Dole lost. McCain is the same. He will take the GOP ship down because he is stubborn and thinks it is his turn.
The conservatives will stay home if McCain win the GOP nomination.

All globalists support the world-state over a sovereign America, so are fundamentally traitorous. If they are also guilty of persecution and murder of Christians, and of feeding the international islamic jihad, so much the worst for them!!!!

It is very distressing how the globalist candidates in both parties seem to be winning. It is also distressing that even populist candidates feel the need to take globalist advisors onto their staffs in order to shore up their perceived “weak foreign policy experience.”

The big question is: will the country survive Hillary/Obama. I have my doubts and I don't want to find out.

With McCain as the Republican nominee, you would guaranteed find out.

Reading the thread and seeing the name “McCain” over and over, I began to focus on “CAIN.” Therein, we find a Biblical tale of a very angry and jealous man, who tried to cheat God and killed his own brother. If we concentrate on the name CAIN, we have an allegory that must be prevented from fulfillment. John McCAIN must be stopped.

This country’s ability to deal with the monstrous slaughter of abortion is preconditioned upon maintaining intact a society that enables discussion of the issue. I already covered both Wahhabi jihadist capabilities and intentions. Accommodating their heresy would not allow commencement of the discussions that must take place.

Why is he a fine man? Remember the S&L scandal? He’s a crook! He also wants to let the invasion from the south continue unabated. I will never vote for him.

You are soooo right! The much coveted independents will desert him like the rats they are. The base despises him. Where are his votes? These polls are NOW. Reality is the real vote in Nov. I, for one, will not be giving McCain my vote. If he is the nominee, I will write in for Thompson. Same with Huckleberry (but he won't be it). I could bring myself to vote for Mitt or Rudy, just barely.
