OFFICIAL FR NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SUNDAY LIVE THREAD
JANUARY 20TH, 2008
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
3:00PM ET - CBS
NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
6:30PM ET - FOX
Dolphins didn’t STEAL every other teams defensive play book. The Pata did.
Yo, dude, you can’t PROVE someone wasn’t doing something. It’s called trying to prove a negative.
The Pats cheated and got nailed. Their 17 wins are all tainted.
Some people are anal retentive...or words to that effect. On other threads I take great joy in causing their retentive natures to spasm. I'm very comfortable with me and if they ain't then they have a problem not me. If it weren't for ole' Bender I wouldn't even have been on the NFL thread. Won't be two weeks from now either because, as I said, I will make my own damn thread only for those who are not graphically challenged. U.S. Army Retired |
We have reached a verdict .... NOT GUILTY
When did you feel you earned the right to call me dude buckwheat? U.S. Army Retired |
And that said, I'm sure that certain facets of my own posts irritate others as well, such as my tagline which usually records how many more days I have left before I outlive some stupid celebrity.
My point is, in any community, people are going to annoy each other. Hell, my own wife annoys me with certain things that she does, like for instance, when she moves my stuff to where I can't find them and then when I ask her where she put something, she tells me that she put it where it belongs. Well what the hell kind of an answer is that? If that was where I thought it belonged, I would have put it there in the first place!
I've been posting here for over 10 years and I have yet to complain to a mod about anybody. It's not that I've never been offended, abused or given a hard time or that other people haven't irritated me. It's just that I accept that fact that on a public forum, people are going to say things that piss me off, sometimes deliberately and people are going to say things I don't agree with and other people are going to do things that annoy me. Speaking of annoying, there are hundreds and hundreds of threads here that annoy me. The "Caption this Hillary photo" threads annnoy me. The prayer threads for the "little girl who my distant relative lives next door to" threads annoy me. The endless "Darwin Award" threads annoy me. And on and on. But I don't go complaining to the mods about it and trying to get people banned over it. I just live and let live.
Today we are seeing the NE Pats playing on a level field, with no “stolen” advantage over the opposition.
Hey Tom? It’s a bit harder being a super star when you don’t know how the defense is gonna line up against you, isn’t it?
He’s right, they did cheat and they got caught.
There, fixed it!
Beg your pardon, didn't they catch and stop the camerman at the end of the first quarter in the first game?
So you must mean their last 16 3/4 wins I guess..........
No, not over at all. They have the playbook of every other NFL team and it's not something a team can change over night or in a few months. Not only is this season suspect, so are the previous ones. How tough is it to win when you know what the other team is going to do?
Ah...a new Clueless Hysteric. Find out what the offense was before whining about it. You're not even close.
He doesn't mean anything. He doesn't even know what the offense was, and is just trolling.
Huh...interesting. I don't get annoyed much at all. Guess twenty years of military service taught me not to trip over mouse turds, and that serious things should be taken seriously..not trivial things. Guess its better to be annoying than to be annoyed. Hugs all around.

Playbooks for sale, LOL. Better off just ignoring the trolls.
They don’t have the playbook, they HAD the signals used in those games. They turned in the tapes, and teams change their signals constantly. And even without the “bad” tapes they could still have the signals, it’s perfectly legal to steal the signals, they could have easily put a dozen guys with binocs in the stand using dance annotation to write the signals down then key them to the league tape of the games all teams are provided with, or the coaching tape all teams make and WALLA they have the exact same data through 100% in the rules means.
And actually it is something the team can change over night, in fact it’s something most teams change every single game, in fact many teams change the calls every quarter, in fact we know some teams use a signal method that’s effectively a one time pad so the same signal refers to a different play every single time it’s used (Matt Hassleback discussed this in an NFL Network commercial, Seattle never uses the same signal to refer to the same play twice).
So yeah, it’s over.
LOL, you act as if when they got caught it was the first time they tried it. They have been suspected of doing this for years and even your "wonderful" coach said, when confronted, that he had "a different interpretation of the rules" The cheating by the Pats coaching staff had an impact on EVERY game they played this year AND for several years back. All their SB victories have now been called into question and their name will forever be mentioned and heard with the dreaded asterisk attached.
Actually, that's an aspect that allows a whole 'nother level of head games. If you've got someone stealing your signals and using them in real-time, then it makes them vulnerable to exactly the same advantage that they are attempting to carry out. You just change the method of sending in the signal, and make sure your decoy calls the "opposite" defense and hope they try to exploit it.
A definition of a dynasty, although a different sport is the NY Yankees of 1948-1965. Hell just in the years 1950-59 they won 6 World Series and 8 Pennants and that carried over into the mid 1960’s. That’s a dynasty.
