Where does a Conservative go?(Vanity)
My feckless brain ^ | Me

Posted on 01/20/2008 1:18:25 AM PST by TexasMatty

As a Conservative I am lost. I will not, under any circumstances vote for John Mclame. He has sold Conservatives out. Nor will I vote for Jesus' favorite candidate Schmuckabee. I believe the most Conservative candidate is Thompson and can't help but wonder who is voting in these things. If Mclame or Schmuckabee is the nominee I can't vote. It will pain me deeply to not vote, but either of those clowns are no different from the lefty. Me question to my FRiends is.. WHAT THE HELL DO WE DO??? The situation seems rather desperate.

I will vote against Hillary. It’s like voting against the anti-christ. I won’t let that opportunity pass.

I could vote for Rudy or Mitt over McCain or Huck.

I trust them with SCOTUS. I wouldn’t have with Rudy if it hadn’t have been for 911. Now I believe he’d never go with a judge that would punish our military or overlook our security. Mitt’s pro-life.

I do not trust McCain with SCOTUS and I don’t trust Huckabee period.

I’m sure I’ll be flamed for that as many here have a Fred hangover (so do I) but it’s just how I feel.

Go visit the Romney truth file..it’s in red and at the top of the forum here. Scroll down to some of the first entries. Romney is not Pro-life. McCain is.

I believe you would get more pro-life (constructionist) judges from Romney than you would from McCain.

I don’t need to read a “Truth file” of amateur opposition research written by people with their own agenda.

I form my own opinions. I will not bother to tell you why I like Mitt Romney. I’ve seen your thuggish posts and do not care for your method of “debate”.

I like Rudy too-—I sincerely hope your head didn’t just explode!

There is more than enough real evidence there to pull your hair out. You are making a big mistake if you don't trust yourself enough to wade thorough it.

That’s what I have been thinking, vote for a conservative congress, the Republicans aren’t going to win the Whitehouse, anyway, so let’s not let these idiots that are running for president, drag the whole party down.

I’m thinking of not voting in the presidential election, but will vote for local elections, state and congressional representatives.

The real point of what I’m trying to say is we are heading for too much movement to the left. It is not about voting for Mitt or Hillary. It is about getting ride of Washington corruption. It is about having a majority of moral people in that city. I think we won’t see that for a long time. It is going to take voting across the spectrum of seats inside the beltway. Congress is a mess. The liberals are taking over the government jobs. The White House is veto can’t be the only stand against the crimes.

Do you honestly think I haven’t seen it?

It gets posted on every thread having anything to do with the election.
I skipped over it after the first read.

Sorry, it didn’t persuade me on anything.

IMHO people mostly consume MSM political coverage to validate their own emotional decisions. As anecdotal evidence allow me to note that despite MSM insistence that elections turn on “where’s the beef?” sound bites I have yet to personally encounter a single soul in real life who changed their political position due to slick public relations marketing.

In real life an old school conservative Republican with the clout to receive White House invitations advises me to put on my general's hat and think strategically about Supreme Court nominations. This particular conservative believes Giuliani can get elected. (Does MSM even mention Giuliani anymore?) Granted, the notion of a President Giuliani sucks to me personally, but going around and beating my breast and wailing over it will make little, if any, difference.

Allow me to dismiss the exaggerated role of MSM public relations to instead give credit where credit's due. Allow me to credit McCain and Paul building up their respective national political machines over the decades; allow me to credit Romney for effectively using his father's political machine; and allow me to credit Huckabee for successfully appropriating the Christian Coalition.

In the end it all gets down to political machinery. Both Hunter and Thompson just now got around to kick starting their own national political machines. Unfortunately for Conservatism it typically takes several election cycles for the durned machines to run smoothly. ;)

McCain may be pro-life but when I trusted him to make the right decisions on very important issues he spit in my eye and sided with liberals.

No thanks. It’s Rudy or Mitt for me. One’s a proven leader in crisis, another in business. I’ll chalk their mistakes up to having to be the Mayor or Governor of liberal Hells and take my chances.

You ask a good question. One I don’t have an answer for right now. Me I’m going to observe what happens for a while. I’ll still vote for Fred in the primary unless Romney looks like a winner in my state.

The republican party is at a crucial stage and if the go anymore to the center I’m leaving them behind.

People here may not believe him, but do you believe a President Romney would want to be re-elected?

If he can be elected with a record of appointing liberals to the bench, and a socialist boondoggle as his policy centerpiece, why would he need the conservative vote to be re-elected.? Wishful thinking got us into this mess.

"Romney or McCain? If someone put the gun to your head and you absolutely had to choose."

I'd pull the pin on the hand-grenade I'm holding and tell them to go ahead and pull the trigger. Political suicide either way. If I'm going down, I'm taking them with me.
