I had a discussion with an evangelical in the cube next to me at work, who went into detail on this very point.

I will ask Monday if he has websites or whatnot for corroboration.

Full Disclosure: He is a FRedhead who would have gone for Hunter if Hunter had better numbers; and who very reluctantly will go for Romney if FRed drops out, on the grounds of at least he has run a business in the real world and has the grace to *pretend* to be conservative.

Cheers!

Your Full Disclosure applies to me and my family perfectly. I don’t believe a word I’m hearing about McCain tonight. The numbers tell a different story. Megyn Kelly just said McCain was put over the top by 39% of independents, and Fred Thompson sucking off evangelical votes from Huckabee. McCain can’t win without liberals unless conservatives believe this “electability” hype and switch to McCain. Why on earth would anyone planning on voting Romney or Thompson switch to McCain? We’re letting the Democrats pick our candidates now?

That’s not going to happen here in the west. The independents are too liberal and the primaries are closed. McCain is despised on immigration out here. He’s standing up there with Lindsay Graham, rubbing our noses in it. I’m beginning to loathe him.
