I think many here don’t understand that there are large areas of the country that dial-up is the only option.

Just a few short years ago in my area dial-up was a “long distance phone call”.

Yes folks, you were charged the same as a long distance phone call for every min you were on the Internet!

If I were voting in SC, I think I would have to conclude Fred will be gone next week...drink some Maalox...and vote for Huck. We can deal with Huck later.

Forgive me - but what in the hell are you thinking? Or, are you letting the MSM and dubious polling data do that for you?

When prop 187 was being voted on in California over a decade ago, the minute the polls opened, the MSM was reporting that it was being beaten, had no chance, and implied that everybody may as well give up. When the real results started coming in in the evening, it won by a landslide. Luckily, Californians were so enraged that they didn't let the MSM stopped them.

Don't let them do that to you now.

The rest of course, are utterly credible.

The standard of integrity (especially for someone running as "the Christian candidate") should not be dumbed down by the field. If every candidate on the Republican side was a consummate liar, it would still not give Huckabee a rationale for being dishonest. Having said that, it's obvious that not every candidate on the Republican side lies every other time they open their mouth.

I really respected the fact that he resigned his Senate seat in order to run for President.

Gee, you think he had it long enough!

When your eyeballs are hanging out and you want a five-minute break from the SC primary news, take a gander at #424 on the current Freepathon thread.

It's the official announcement of the FReepathon Memorable Movie Moments contest! The contest is a fund-raiser for FR.

It'll be great fun if you enter this easy contest and even greater fun reading other freepers' entries, especially if you're a movie afficianado from the silents up to today's motion pictures.

Louella Parsons (your hostess for the contest)

Thompson Defends Himself Against Pamphlet’s Charges
Posted by John Bentley

(CBS)From CBS News’ John Bentley:

COLUMBIA, S.C. — As Fred Thompson makes his final push in South Carolina, his opponents have stepped up their anti-Thompson rhetoric. After a rally in Greenville last night, many cars in the parking lot outside had fliers stuck on their windshields accusing Thompson of supporting Planned Parenthood, a pro-choice organization.

“FACT: Fred Thompson voted to give over $65 millon of YOUR tax dollars to America’s largest Abortion provider Planned Parenthood in 2002,” the pamphlet reads.

The campaign calls the pamphlet “intentionally misleading” and believes Mike Huckabee supporters are behind them.

While Thompson did vote yes on H.R. 3061 while he was a senator (as did most members of the Senate – the vote was 90-7 - though, interestingly John McCain was one of the 7 “nay” votes), it was a typical appropriations bill for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education totalling $686 billion for FY 2002.

As part of that bill, Planned Parenthood did receive federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services. But it is illegal for any federal funds to be used for abortions because of the Hyde Amendment, and as it says in Title V of the bill itself: “None of the funds appropriated under this Act, and none of the funds in any trust fund to which funds are appropriated under this Act, shall be expended for any abortion.”

The campaign says that “Senator Thompson worked in the Senate to ensure that federal funds did not go to fund abortions,” and points out that he received the endorsement of the National Right to Life Organization.

That’s true, I won’t be regretting my support for Fred no matter what may happen.

By the way, I love that Thompson quote in your tagline. The Church and individual Christians should be Christ’s hands and feet to those in need.

I’m so naive...I’ve never heard of that particular kind of push-polling before.

Just dayum.

Remember when Abraham was “dealing” for Sodom & Gomorrah? Pray that God sees the works of His children, hears their prayers, forgives the sins of those who offend Him (the majority), and withholds His righteous wrath against those who shed innocent blood, until all have repented and again will say “In God We Trust”. America will get the President she asks for. Pray God’s hand leads us to make the right decision for His sake and glory.

I agree. We were in H&R Block the other day and I was simply amazed at how fast he was getting our information to pop up. Yes folks, you were charged the same as a long distance phone call for every min you were on the Internet!

Ouch!

Sellsouth said we would have dsl available out her next month but I won't hold them to it, they've said it before. If they fall through again, I'm going to satellite.
