Whats frustrating is watching fellow conservatives get so emotionally invested in one side or the other in this horserace they lose sight of the Big Picture & whats at stake.

Hopefully Hunter will endorse Fred.

Laugh it up now while you can Steve. Ok I'll take that under consideration. But still, when my guy is out (which could be soon) I can be pretty positive I won't need my diaper changed.

Oh I don't know, your chortling over Hunter's dropping out suggests that you've already crapped your pants.

Individual precincts don’t matter too much...the MSM still makes their calls via exit polling, supported by some level of actual results...even though they got burned by exit polls in 2000.

Fred needs to finish a very strong third. It is possible.

“Well, if in fact Fred does drop out, I would guess Rush is going to support Romney.”

Well, he doesn’t have much choice after saying Thompson, Romney, and Giuliani were the only conservatives in the race. He might not have wanted to risk losing face with a Fred endorsement (though some think such an endorsement might really have helped Fred) but I’ll be surprised if he actually comes out supporting Rudy. Surprised, and disgusted. So I would guess Romney is it.

He can’t win because the media said so!

Nevermind he is the only consistent conservative in the race...

I saw Bill Sammon of the “Washington Examiner” who suggested a Fred Thompson withdraw from the race.

He also suggested a Thompson endorsment of McCain.

On Friday David Gergen pitched the idea that Thompson dislikes Romney and would endorse his friend McCain.

I wanted Thompson to win today to keep this race going but now we are into the “McCain Coronation” by the media tonight.

Vote anybody but McCain tactically.

If Romney contests a state like he is in Florida, conservatives should vote for him.

OR ELSE WE GET MCCAIN DOWN OUR THROATS.

In New York and New Jersey vote for Rudy on February 5th.

And in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama your only option February 5th to stop McCain would be Huck.

Maybe Fred Thompson was the shill for McCain.

I noticed Huckabee hitting hard on immigration the last few days signing a pledge to send illegals back.

Huckabee also said he can’t contact the polling firm to stop the push polling in his favor because its a felony under McCain-Feingold.

Huck seems to be attacking McCain.

I just know I would never vote for John McCain and would want to see him lose every state possible so the media can’t promote him.

Yes, I’d love for Fred at this point to be at or near 20% - heart is in my throat though.

If Fred also doesn't make it it will be a sad day for our country. Agreed.

Doubly agreed! Fred is our last, best hope. I was glad to read that whatever happens in SC to Fred, he has vowed to continue on to Florida.

Fred lost today because after hanging out with him for two weeks, the voters of SC decided they didn’t really like him. Bush won SC’s primary in 2000. There was no barrier to Fred winning today. You can’t blame anything but Fred himself. Same with Hunter if you’re a Hunter supporter.

Benedict Arnold was a “war hero” before he betrayed his country as well.

I’m a bit behind in my info for SC.

Correct me. I thought only independents could vote in either r or d?

But even at that, what it means is that the rats came out to vote for McCain rather than Obama and Shillary.

Why do we even have primaries?

How is it possible that a state with a massive Illegal Immigrant problem is voting for Mr Amnesty? It like the voters are simply tuning out all facts to fixate on McCain’s Cult of Personality campaign. That he wore the uniform 40 years ago should not cancel out his actions as a politician.
