Nevada Caucus Chaos (Paul Campaign Pres Release)

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Today, the Ron Paul 2008 campaign is calling on the Nevada State Republican Party to re-examine multiple inconsistencies in the Nevada Caucus process, and to consider postponing the caucus, which is scheduled for Saturday, January 19.

“The inconsistencies, errors and multiple changes in the rules reek of playing politics with the what should be a neutral process,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore. “The people of Nevada deserve to know exactly what the rules are and to know that those rules are being fairly enforced. This has not happened up to this point, and the caucus appears to be in chaos.”

The problem of multiple rule changes is being compounded by other inconsistencies and errors in the process. Many Nevada Republicans have received postcards with incorrect information about their caucus location, and the Nevada GOP website had incorrect caucus locations listed as late as Wednesday, January 16.

Additionally, one or more county chairs have expressed concerns over an insufficient number of ballots, and the Ron Paul campaign has heard reports that rural counties are short of ballots, while Clark County precincts were given what is regarded as far too many ballots.

The Ron Paul campaign has learned that the Nevada Republican Party has changed the rules for eligibility requirements for caucusing three times since January 9. Last summer when the January 19 caucus was set, the Nevada GOP announced that caucus would be closed and only for Republicans who had registered by December 19.

On January 10, 2008, a caucus director for the Nevada Republican Party reversed the earlier policy and anounced a new standard by stating that any person who asserts that they are a registered Republican in the precinct but cannot be found in the voter rolls that the Republican party has, would be able to participate if they signed an affidavit attesting to the fact that they were a registered Republican. Then, on January 15 the Ron Paul campaign received communication from the state party that the affidavits would not be used.

However, on January 17 the policy was changed for a third time, as the state party announced that affidavits would be in use throughout the state, subject to the discretion of county central committees and chairs.

The Nevada Republican Party is changing the rules from week to week, and currently the rules will not even be uniform across the state, as eligibility rules may differ from county to county.

Given the caucus location confusion – with potential caucus participants not knowing where to go – and the new rule effectively allowing anyone to get a ballot, the Ron Paul campaign is concerned that the confusion surrounding the caucus will both disenfranchise voters and make the election particularly susceptible to vote fraud.

He [Lincoln] had been rash enough to oppose a war and support an unpopular cause without compromise or equivocation (The Life and Writings of Abraham Lincoln, pg 34)

But Lincoln did not blame The United States for the attack on Fort Sumter.

Money that used to belong to George Soros, but it seems George Soros is even getting tired of wasting his money on this NUT.

Oh get real and stop debating like a liberal. There is no Soros money going to Paul. All of Paul's contributions came from individuals across the country.

Rudy has not even started to campaign

Rudy has purposefully avoided the early primary states because he knows he'll get creamed. That's why he's hunkered down in FL, and even that isn't a gimme. Rudy is toast.

and Fred did not even start until a couple of months ago.

And that has hurt Fred in SC, where his numbers are going down. He HAS to win today or else.

Cut and run has been blaming America for all the problems in the world for years. Of course he has support. Support from all the blame America first crowd at moveon.org.

If these lefties were behind Paul, Paul would be the front-runner now. All this talk about liberals crossing over to Paul ain't happening. God, you guys are fricking delusional.

“It was during that debate that I made up my mind to support only Ron Paul,at least until the elections in November.”

Have you ever really examined Pauls record? He was a total failure as a congressman, never getting one bit of legislation passed, never doing one thing to secure the borders and actually voted for amnesty 3 times. He also co sponsored tons of liberal democrat legislation. Do you even care?

Paul supporters insist Reagan would vote for Paul

Over and over they tell me, “Reagan would vote for Ron Paul”.

I just spent the past few minutes listening to Michael Reagan attempt to explain to a zealous Paul supporter that a president cannot eliminate the IRS or the various other pie in the sky notions Paul and his fan club have. In exasperation, Mike finally said,

“I would for Hillary or Obama first....My father would not for vote him. I would not vote for him. I don’t want a nut job in the White House”

I thought it was interesting. We know Ron Paul has NO congressional endorsements for president. He has never gained support to ever get one piece of his legislation through.

Perhaps the people who work around Ron Paul have summed up his problem.

Best and Worst of Congress

Capitol Hill staffers rate their bosses: who’s naughty, who’s nice, who’s smart, who’s not, and lots more. Knowlegis, a government-relations data and software company, contributed to and helped distribute this survey[snip]

Worst Follower 1. Ronald Paul (R-Texas)2. Christopher Shays 3. Jeff Flake

********Paul has a reputation for listening to one person: himself. ***********

To see the shocking Scandal Index of the Clinton years, as compiled by the liberal Progressive Review (http://prorev.com) is to appreciate the Clinton's 24/7/365 belief that any progress in their leftist domestic and foreign affairs agenda could only be realized through the most nefarious activity – much of which fit neatly into the criminal category. Under the listing of "Records Set'" by the Clinton administration (read: co-presidency), Progressive Review cites the following, of which I will only list a sampling: ▪ Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates. ▪ Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation. ▪ Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify. ▪ Most number of witnesses to die suddenly. ▪ First president sued for sexual harassment. ▪ First president accused of rape. ▪ First president to be held in contempt of court. ▪ First president to be impeached for personal malfeasance. ▪ First first lady to come under criminal investigation. ▪ Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign-contribution case. ▪ Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions. ▪ Number of Starr-Ray investigation convictions or guilty pleas to date: one governor, one associate attorney general and two Clinton business partners: 14. ▪ Number of Cabinet members who came under criminal investigation: 5. ▪ Number of individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine that were convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes: 47. ▪ Number of these convictions during Clinton's presidency: 33. ▪ Number of indictments/misdemeanor charges: 61. ▪ Number of congressional witnesses who pleaded the Fifth Amendment, fled the country to avoid testifying, or (in the case of foreign witnesses) refused to be interviewed: 122. ▪ Guilty pleas and convictions obtained by Donald Smaltz in cases involving charges of bribery and fraud against former Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy and associated individuals and businesses: 15; acquitted or overturned cases (including Espy): 6. ▪ Clinton machine crimes for which convictions were obtained: drug trafficking, 3; racketeering, extortion, bribery, 4; tax evasion, kickbacks, embezzlement, 2; fraud, 12; conspiracy, 5; fraudulent loans, illegal gifts, 1; illegal campaign contributions, 5; money laundering, 6; perjury, et al. ▪ Number of times that Clinton figures who testified in court or before Congress said that they didn't remember, didn't know, or something similar: Bill Kennedy, 116; Harold Ickes, 148; Ricki Seidman, 160; Bruce Lindsey, 161; Bill Burton, 191; Mark Gearan, 221; Mack McLarty, 233; Neil Egglseston, 250; John Podesta, 264; Jennifer O'Connor, 343; Dwight Holton 348; Patsy Thomasson, 420; Jeff Eller, 697; and Hillary Clinton, 250. Believe it or not, this exhaustive list omits even lengthier lists – on public record – of crimes investigated, public officials and reporters intimidated, threatened and muzzled, and the raft of dead people associated with the Clintons who died by guns, knives, alleged suicides, etc. See http://members.tripod.com/~rcjustice/pres.html and http://prorev.com/legacy.htm.

[He [Lincoln] had been rash enough to oppose a war and support an unpopular cause without compromise or equivocation (The Life and Writings of Abraham Lincoln, pg 34)]

But Lincoln did not blame The United States for the attack on Fort Sumter.

And Ron Paul did not blame the United States for 9/11 either.

He said that our leaders ought to understand that our foreign policy decisions can have unforeseen consequences, such as 9/11, which have to be considered when making them.

But the fact is that Lincoln questioned the Mexican War and was not a traitor for doing so.

A Whig congressman, who voted against the war of 1812, as a Federalist, and lost his seat, and was later relected, stated when asked how he was going to vote on the Mexican issue,

Sir, I have learned my lesson and I am now all for war, famine and pestilence

“Setting aside the hatred most of you have for Ron Paul, what do you think of what’s going on in Nevada?”

If this is true, the process has been compromised. Those who seek to maintain control over our lives will do whatever it takes to maintain their power. Even if it means making daily policy changes to skew the results. Sadly, they have lots of help. I’m talking about the ruling elites who have taught many citizens to fear freedom and the individual responsibilty that comes with it. The ruling elites have taught the sheeple not to worry. Since all they have to do is vote for them, and they will personally attend to all their needs.

One might reasonably argue this was America’s last shot at freedom. I suspect we will be witnesses to many more examples of corruption like this one as this corrupt voting process unfolds...meanwhile, we continue our march lockstep toward the NWO and the totalitarianism that comes with it.

Yep, I’m thinking it’s already too late. Between dumbed down dependent upon govt for everything weasels, a corrupt political process with today’s media serving as guardian angels, I have resigned myself to realize individual liberty as well as our national sovereignty hasn’t a chance in hell to survive.

Barely and only because Paul’s workers were asking independents to vote for Ron Paul to mess up the Republican primaries. You folks are a disgrace.

And how did Ron Paul do in South Carolina by the way?????
Very Poorly - because Paul only has enough supporters to screw up one primary at a time.

“Personally, I find it pretty disgusting that so many Freepers are OK with letting county chairs decide who gets to vote just because they think it will hurt a candidate they don’t like this time around.

On top of disgusting, it becomes outright stupid when it is all to hurt a candidate who doesn’t have a shot of winning anyway.”

Oh so now it’s all a scheme to hurt ron paul?

ROFLMAO!!!
