Whew! Had me worried for a minute.
So do we know who the mystery “big” endorsement is yet?
I wondered whether that was it, and hoped it wasn’t.
Bo Derek?
That’d be hugh.
Scheduling a major endorsement on a Friday afternoon would be about the worst possible time to make an announcement.
“Did it seem to you that Fred came to McCains defense at times during the debate? I know that he worked for McCain once.”
No, I did not see Fred come to McCain’s defense at all. In fact Fred said that he did not agree with McCain on illegal immigration and taxes.
(Meaning: McCain’s amnesty for illegals and his voting against the Bush tax cuts.)
You believe ABC????
Wasn’t the endorsement supposed to be announced between 12pm-3pm EST? Maybe they decided Friday afternoon wasn’t good timing and will wait until after the Michigan primary.
Could you clarify when Fred Thompson worked for McCain? I have no recollection of that.
“You believe ABC????”
Why do you think I was asking Fred supporters who saw the debate?
I’ve been rooting for Fred from the beginning. Fred has my confidence and my vote. I think the debate in SC was just the beginning, and it will be remembered in history how that debate turned things around for him. If he doesn’t get SC that’s not even close to the end of the road for him.
“Could you clarify when Fred Thompson worked for McCain? I have no recollection of that.”
That’s what ABC News reported.
Oh brother... Ain’t that the truth?!? Excellent observation of a dubious tactic!!!
I’ll go out on a limb here and say ABC News is wrong.
McCain was in the Navy thru 1981, then elected to the House; he moved on to the Senate in ‘86, and has been there ever since.
Fred worked on the Hill till ‘82 but on the Senate side, then left Washington, not to return till he was elected to the Senate as a colleague of McCain in 1994.
So, I don’t see how Fred could have worked for McCain, UNLESS the reference was to working/volunteer/endorsing a prior McCain’s campaign.
“You believe ABC????”
If I did, would I be asking you?
