I’m probably missing something as far as strategy, but doesn’t Thompson ALSO need to go after McCain, given McCain is leading in South Carolina?

If he doesn’t he’ll confirm my suspicions that he’s in this to help McCain or he’s angling for a VP spot with McCain.

He’s after Huck’s VOTERS.

And he did mention he didn’t like McCain’s amnesty plan.

That’s an interesting strategy for Fred and McCain, having Fred help McCain by pointing out his most vulnerable issue on national television.

enough with the conspiracy theory. Maybe Fred’s banking on the fact SC gave McAmnesty the boot last go around and that his stance on immigration makes it likely it’ll happen again when people are given the opportunity to vote for a candidate with views similar to their own on the subject.
