Here’s your solution, Jim:

Keep tearing down Mike Huckabee and his true bona fides and then get John McCain. But realistically, even if all FReepers were somehow together on a candidate, a conservative news forum is not much of a player in presidential politics anyway, so not to worry. You know it’s TV and other mass media that still reigns, as a conduit to Americans’ predisposed souls.

So, apparently John McCain is poised to be a juggernaught, unless Huckabee would be able to come up with some surprising victory in Michigan leading to others. And that is very unlikely, due in large part to Americans’ prejudice against Bible believing Christians, since the mere presence of these threatens their sense of personal security.

I doubt even HRC will get in McCain’s way, which is the silver lining. Sure hope he nominates originalist justices, if my perceptions are correct.

cc: some FReepers interested in Gov. Huckabee and a very few others. Keep tellin’ the truth, folks!

Not a factor? Ask presidents Gore or Kerry.

Say, why don’t we simply take a poll on which candidates conservative FReepers most favor and support, then observe and hope that other grassroots organizations have similar leanings, then mobilize and join forces nationwide and work like hell to get a genuine CONSERVATIVE nominated and elected. To hell with the liberals, RINOs and Hillary Clinton, et al.

In fact, in every poll we’ve ever taken on FR, the pro Life & Liberty, fiscal, and national security conservatives Thompson and Hunter stand out head and shoulders as FReeper favorites over all RINOs, liberals, moderates and wannabes. For a variety of reasons, the vast majority of FReepers simply do not believe or trust Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee, McCain or Paul.

Bible believing? One must know what the Bible says, and the preacher class have NEVER done very well in that area even back to the days of Moses and Aaron. Nothing new under the sun. Oh and wearing the symbol WWJD is not Biblical.

What you see on FR is a microcosm of the GOP, although more weighted to libertarianism. That’s why the GOP is in a heap of trouble.

Make no mistake, the Reagan coalition is in deep recess if not over. For most folks around here it is just romanticism. Reagan would be very unwelcome on FR, the home of Curmudgeon Conservatism.
