“FWIW - I think a lot of Thompson supporters would rather cut off their hand than vote for McCain...I know I would. But I feel the same about Huckabee.”

If you are that foolish and recalcitrant, then I’d be glad to loan you a surgical saw.

I notice that most of the liberal pundits, those supporting Hillary or the pundits who support McCain are saying that Romney should drop out now. I think they are trying to convince Mitt, because they know he is a threat to their favorites. I strongly suspect that Mitt understands this too, and he will never drop until he is so far behind in the delegate count that it will be futile.

Didn’t he get almost as many delegates in WY as IA?

Quite possibly, though I'm not sure of the count in IA. I know he got 3 in WY, and he has 6 total at this point. From what I read on some delegate count website, that's only 3 less than John McCain had after the smoke cleared in NH.

Since you want to be that way, how many delegates does Fred have? And some are saying he only needs to come in 3rd in SC to be viable? And what % did he get in NH? I don’t buy it he didn’t campaign in NW. I know he made a big deal though of leaving on a bus for SC before the vote count could start. That seemed a little manipulative. He knew he was going to lose big and was acting like a sore loser. If you want to be mean and tell Mitt to drop out when he has the most delegates, then I need to point out the obvious.

Reagan guy is testing my patience, does someone need to tell him “Fred is not going to win the nomination. Thank God.” This Reagan guy needs a taste of his own medicine.

Well, Rush was clear on this today. It’s just as silly to think Mitt would drop out any time soon as it was after IA to think Hillary would drop out anytime soon. It’s a LONG primary season; as Rush says this one will not turn on “momentum,” but instead is about getting delegates. Mitt has a great start-—as good or better than anyone, at this point.

Allowing crossover voting or allowing "independents" to decide who the Republican nominee is violates every principle of our two party system.

Frankly, I don't see why that itself is a bad thing.

Political parties are private groups and have the right to choose who can and can not vote in their primaries. But I don't care a whit for the principles of "our two party system" - I share George Washington's very healthy distrust of political parties.

It doesn’t matter if Jim Robinson or other other Freeper swears its true. Without actual facts or evidence, I can come to no other conclusion other than your claim is a damned lie.

Give it a rest. I went all through this with Jim Robinson, back in 2000. He was very angry and didn’t believe it, until it appeared in the MSM, a few days later. I think that it may have been a Maureen Dowd column, but I’m not sure. It appeared numerous times after that.

I don’t really care if you believe it or not. I’ll repeat it as often as I like. There are plenty of people who condemned Clinton for raping Juanita Broderick that should be equally offended by the accusation against McCain, especially since it is a matter of Congressional Record.

I heard McCane won the primary because of all the independents.

I don’t believe he has a chance after all the other states ring in...

Yes you are probably right. I have no reason to think Thompson will drop out early.
***I do.

Taking a snapshot right after the New Hampshire results started coming in, Thompson’s Nomination contract dropped below 2%, down to 1.6.

2008.GOP.NOM.THOMPSON(F)
Fred Thompson to be the Republican Presidential Nominee in 2008 M 1.8 2.4 1.6 102809 -0.4

His presidential contract lost most of its value, it is only ahead of Hunter (still embedded in the field) by 0.1.

2008.PRES.THOMPSON(F)
Fred Thompson to win 2008 US Presidential Election M 0.3 0.4 0.2 41449 -0.5

2008.PRES.FIELD
Field (any other candidate) to win 2008 US Presidential Election M 0.2 0.3 0.1 17629 +0.0

His dropout contract rose 15 points to 90% for January, no change for February.

DROPOUT.JAN08.(F)THOMPSON
Fred Thompson to drop out of 2008 Presidential race on/before 31 Jan 2008 M 75.0 90.0 90.0 134 +15.5

I heard about the Huckster’s plan for illegals just yesterday. Supreme Court challenge to the Constitution. Makes sense to me. (But I don’t think he has a prayer.)

That was yesterday.

Today, he flopped back.

I've searched and searched and found not one mention of your accusation. If it was repeated numerous times in the MSM, as you claim, some reference should come up. It does not.

Instead you'll repeat accusations without any evidence. Have you no shame? What your doing is nothing less than spreading damned lies and, unless you can actually find some evidence of this claim, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself.

So much for honesty and integrity, you'll just make accusations without facts. That's what is expected from the left, not conservatives.

It is often difficult to dig up information about events in the pre-computer times, especially when people don’t want them to be found. Ask around, I’m sure you’ll find some people who will remember, or remember having read it. I bet you don’t remember those pictures of McCain that appeared in all the newspapers when he granted interviews to foreign correspondents, four days after he was shot down, either.

So you'll stick to your claim without any evidence? Some model of integrity you have.

It is often difficult to dig up information about events in the pre-computer times, especially when people don’t want them to be found.

Ah, the old "if it can't be found it must be a cover up" conspiracy. Once again you need facts, of which you have none.

I bet you don’t remember those pictures of McCain that appeared in all the newspapers when he granted interviews to foreign correspondents, four days after he was shot down, either.

Yes I am aware of the pictures and the supposed claims to go along with them that the rabid anti-McCain propagandists spread. Reality is a bit different however.

Get back to me when you can actually find a shred of evidence to back up your McCain rape accusation or at least have the integrity to apologize for such a libelous claim

You see, you don’t actually remember seeing the pictures and the reports that went along with them, including McCain’s own remarks.

You really should do some research on McCain if you are going to support his candidacy. The Running John web site from the Phoenix newspaper would be a good place to start, though I don’t think that they ever covered the rape accusation. Most sources delete accusations that are not substantiated, but like the Juanita Brodderick case, the accusation was made too late for any court of law.

You really should do some research on McCain...

I have down research on McCain and the supposed collaboration while he was a POW and found the entire accusations without any merit whatsoever. Most of the accusations stem from Ted Sampley, who is nothing more than a conniving con artist, and none stand up to any serious scrutiny.

He’s also the only one who believes in capitalism. As for abortion and guns, all a President can do to impact those issues is appoint strict constructionist judges. He’s said he will and I believe him. You obviously don’t. We’ll see who is right if he gets elected.

Guiliani is strong on national security, really good on crime, and speaks directly. I like his persona, for what that’s worth. You may disagree with him, but he tells you what he believes - unlike Romney who requires a very fast computer to keep up with his various positions.

Rudy is less liberal than McCain and Huckster on every important issue but abortion. Hell, McCain wants to give constitutional rights to Al Queda and close down Guantanamo! Just today he was babbling about the Christian duty to fight GLOBAL WARMING!

Huckster is a socialist. McCain is a lefty loon. The fact that they’re good on abortion and guns doesn’t make up for that.

Hank
