I’m remembering (by replying) you said that. The only upside I see from your analysis (hope you’re wrong) is that instead of contributing I’ll be buying firepower, food and meds later this year.

With Fred's super solid rock-ribbed FR hardcore-approved conservative record, he's sitting at 1-percent????? Now THERE'S a real confidence builder, dontcha think?

Aw, poor likkle cwying Mitt-worshipers trying to deflect attention away from Mitt's 2nd consecutive beatdown.

Romney is done. He's through. Get over it!

No, I know Mitt will not drop out -- he's obsessed with power and would have to be dragged from the race kicking and screaming.

In Iowa, Mitt spent $250 to Hucks $10. 25 to one, and still lost.

McCain is/was broke, but is running on a shoestring. I bet the margin was just as large.

So, just to thought experiment this, Mitt would have to bump up to say 30 to one, to beat someone.

Mitt’s, sort of close, finishes are way way worse than they seem because his money is pulling for him, more than he himself.

I’m sure that Mitt is going to have to break records for spending, by far, to stay competitive. For example, say he spent 10 million in Iowa, and 6 in New Hampshire, and he still lost. This raises the question of what he would have to spend in New York. $20 million? And, he will, as I predicted in New Hampshire, lose to Rudy. Then there is California and Florida. Say together 30 plus million. Maybe 40. Texas? The rest of the US?

Mitt could be needing $100 mil to have a chance, maybe double to win by cash alone.

All of Mitt’s life he has been a good calculator. He’s never once shown a go for broke action. If he doesn’t see the pay off, soon, of being the biggest spender, by factors, and still losing, he’ll cut back.

Even a blind squirrel figures out he can’t get the acorn.

How about this? Do I care? Does it change the fact that Mitt, according to this tally, has the most delegates?

Exactly. And it’s interesting that no matter how much prodding Rush gets from various callers, he has not strongly supported Fred (or anyone, for that matter). I won’t speak for him, but it sure seems as though he understands exactly what I said: that our candidate will come from one of our guys, none of them named Fred or Duncan.

That is precious! I’ll save that Mr. Voice of Conservatism (who probably couldn’t spell FreeRepublic 10 years ago).

I read today that no Massachusetts presidential candidate in *history* has lost the New Hampshire primary. Until now.

When he’s talking in front of the cameras in front of a small group with his wife there, something is just not right. Can someone else explain that better.

I have heard that he has an extremely violent temper. His wife is a frail person. When they are in public together, her body language is very stiff, almost like a frightened child. Sure, she smiles - but she is terrified of something.

Also, they sold their house in Cornville (ten minutes from where I live), and also put up their house in Phoenix for sale. Don't know if it sold or not, but it was way over two million, if I remember correctly.

FWIW - I think a lot of Thompson supporters would rather cut off their hand than vote for McCain...I know I would. But I feel the same about Huckabee.

Thompson isn’t somebody you choose because you’ve always loved Fred. He’s only has a shot at all because so many of us dislike our other options. He’s the last resort candidate.

Huckabee or McCain - I vote for congresscritters and look forward to 2012.

Mitt or Rudy - I do a lot of soul-searching, but would probably drag myself to the voting booth and vote against Hillary/Obama...but I don’t bring anyone with me.

Hate to say it, but I think we’re looking at a 55:45 Democrat win in 2008.

I agree with you and think Fred represents true Conservatives the best. I have been in his camp long before he ever declared but must admit that I am disappointed in his delivery.
He just doesn’t engage the undecided voters as I know quite a few. They will never vote for a Democrat but do not understand why I would back someone they don’t think can win.
I am keeping hope alive because I am not at all pleased with Huck, McLame,Mitt,Rudy, or Paul. I won’t throw a temper tantrum if a RINO wins and will hold my nose to vote for him.
This is only because I have 3 young children and am not sure I can afford 4-8 years of Hitlery.

Look, I don’t care that you’ve chosen to support a liberal for the nomination. Mitt’s your guy, fine. Just don’t expect us conservative FReepers to sit back and listen to your trashtalk without responding.

No votes have actually been certified and 35K-50K votes in one primary doesn’t elect a POTUS. Besides, those are projections at this point. Nothing more, stupid.

“The people of NE have matched the newspapers and voted
Romney OFF THE ISLAND.”

26 newspapers supported McCain, 0 newspapers supported Mitt Romney, and Mitt still manages to get 30%. I’d say that is impressive!

As a side note, Hillary is poised to become the “comeback queen”.
Her tiny fall was fun while it lasted.
