I want Thompson to win the nomination. But I have watched the debates and watched the man campaign, speeches, interviews, etc.....And I have concluded Fred Thompson really does not want the job.

“I don’t think he needs to win SC”

Fred needs to win in SC because otherwise he won’t get the funds to compete in the big states to come. Unless Fred pulls it out, it will come down to a choice between Huckabee, McCain, and Giuliani; of that unsavory trio, I would take Rudy.

Go Fred!

Mitt’s got more delegates than McCain, probably four or five times as many as Thompson, and the Rudy states haven’t even kicked in where their guy will give him a bunch of delegates.

See my post #150. Delegate math isn't the only math involved at this stage of the campaign.

Willard, Mike, Rooty and John aren't conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

GO FRED!

So in Iowa, Mitt was Mr. Conservative.
In New Hampshire, Mitt fliped to Mr. Change.
What’s he going to be in South Carolina? Mr. Dixie?

Mr. Amnesty reminds me of Bob Dole.

That’s exactly what I think, too. But then if the Democrat candidate is old, tired looking Hillary, what will it matter.

Yes the media will crown that RHINO next president and call me a skeptic but I think it is very odd that the media was crying for the Clinton campaign all day and low and behold...she is in the lead.
I think it was an effort by the media to allow her to be the” comeback kid”.They knew she was not losing but maybe not having a blow out.I am that skeptical of the media and polls.

Does the delay in calling NH on the Dems side mean it’s too close to call? I hope so, because I want Hillary and Obama to keep battling it out as long as possible. I don’t know if I can take the Republicans carving each other up all the way to the convention, while the winning Dem serenely tut tuts and basks in the MSM’s glow from the sidelines.

‘..He will do nothing about the border...he must be stopped...’

What in the world are these Republicans thinking?? Have they forgotton that McCain was not anxious to do anything about ILLEGAL behavior (other than let it continue), he is against waterboarding...even tho radical islamist terrorists have cut off heads of Americans...he is against the Bush tax cuts....etc.

Good grief....hope the rest of the country does not have amnesia!

The Manchester Union Leader has been writing numerous hit pieces on Romney for a long time in an effort to support their man, McCain. I live in NH, work in Mass., and didn’t see Romney govern in the way he’s being described here.

Rush and Mark Levin both have spoken favorably about Fred and Romney. McCain is no conservative, and he would be a disastrous candidate. Same with Huck.

I still think that this race is wide open, and I don’t know who will get the nomination. Fred will need to do better than 1%.

How can our party turn away a war hero maverick who will win the War on Terror, end out of control government spending, balance the budget, and protect the 2nd and the unborn all while appealing to independents, re-uniting the Reagan coalition, and inspiring the nation.

And let us not forget doing away with that pesky southern border and free speech!

Some intellectually challenged folks do seem to be joyfully rooting for a particular RINO, but are also, with a spirit of malice, supporting ANY of the Nanny State RINOs against the conservatives.

The continual bashing of the only conservative candidates in the race is extremely disheartening considering all that has been done to create this CONSERVATIVE forum.

“but I can just about guarantee you it won’t be Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, or Fred Thompson.”

Spoken like a true liberal. Are you trying to turn dislike of your candidate to hatred? You are doing a good job if that is the case. What a great political strategy. It is so unique and creative.
