For the past year, I, like millions of others, have been bewildered by TVs talking heads, always assuring us that Hillary before a single vote was cast, before a singe attack ad was made, before a single blunder or mini-crisis occurredwas to be coronated as the Democratic nominee and would inevitably go on to beat any Republican rival. (Many instead thought Never underestimate the ability of Bill Clinton to do damage to those around him ).
Now after the first week of the primary season, these same geniuses are deifying Obama (formerly trashed as running a surprisingly dismal and uninspiring campaign) to the skies and writing Clintons post mortem even as her national polls are still even or ahead of Obama. Something similar is true of McCain as well once worshiped, then pitied, and now admired.

“For the past year,”
Actually, its been six years and the American people are telling the MSM STFU.
People that think Hellary is dead are fooling themselves. There is a huge primary on Feb 5 where most of the delegates in large states are decided. Hellary is far ahead in all the major states. Feb 5th is when she makes her move.
Alas! In the end it appears she was never the queen, just the wife of the court jester.
I'm not sure who said it. Confucious, maybe. Or Niccolo Machiavelli.
This writer is absolutely spot on. Why is the rest of America forced to listen to the opinions of two states that are not even important enough to have an MLB or NFL team between either of them? I think it’s ridiculous that these two small insignificant states have so much sway and power over picking the parties candidates.
I thought this was going to be about Bawney Frank.
Is it OK so say this about a Clinton?
Probably Bill Walsh.
Hillary has 172 Super Delegates committed to her already. That’s how it really works.
Victor Davis Hanson is wrong when he says most voters know everything there is to know about Hillary. Most younger and first-time voters don’t have a CLUE about how the Clintons debased the Oval Office between 1992 and 2000—these voters were too young to know or care.
I also think voters who do remember the revolting Clinton years DO NOT want a repeat. There’s good reasons why Hillary! has the most negative ratings of any candidate.
Totally agreed. I won’t rest easy until after Feb 5. Hillary is far from a gonner....
Many would like to crown Hillaryous.
There are 24 hours in every day and each minute requires content on hundreds of channels, radio stations, magazines, newspapers ...
They fill that need for content, and need for an audience, by treating every fart like a nuke. It’s all URGENT, URGENT, BREAKING NEWS! WATCH THIS, ITS IMPORTANT, VITAL! NOW! DONT TURN THAT CHANNEL, THE WORLD IS CHANGING IN THE NEXT 30 SECONDS, DETAILS TO FOLLOW AFTER THIS COMMERCIAL BREAK!
This is what we get because of it. It’s all garbage. There are 7 or 8 candidates on both sides that could win the party nominations. The press blather is for ratings, it has nothing to do with legit analysis or anything resembling truth.
A real nuke could drop tommorow, completely altering the races. A bank failure, a bullet from a rooftoop, an affair, a heart attack, a cancer remmission, an ex-lesbian lover with a grudge, a slur caught on tape, a hookers for votes scandal ...
I completely agree with you that Iowa & NH are “less than important” but by the same token, I wouldn’t be counting Hillary out at this early date.
She’s not dead, but she’s had a remarkably bad week. She’s wounded pretty good and she just doesn’t have her husband’s ability to shmooze her way back into a good political health groove. She’s surly, unlikeable and desperate.
