"My question for you evangelicals is this. If youre looking for a real conservative, why are you supporting Huckabee? Hes completely discredited himself. What about Fred Thompson? If youre looking for a real conservative. Huckabee is constantly engaging in class warfare against the producers. This laid-off line, its an attack on Romney, but its an attack on producers. Its an attack on employers. Its pure populism. He does oppose school choice! You dont get the NEA endorsement in New Hampshire by supporting school choice."

Rush is in a tough spot. All of the movement conservatives, William F. Buckley, Paul Weyrich and David Keene have endorsed Willard. The conservative leaders chose expediency over principle. But, we are not like certain constituencies in the Democrat Party. We are not sheep.

I didn’t mean to offend you, I see that you said are an evangelical. I was talking in generalizations. I am sorry if I insulted you because that was not my intention.
To: NavVet
Rush, if you stop talking about Fred, I will give you.........Amnesty!

Your faction does not include the National Right to Life, many state-wide Right to Life groups, PCA Presbyterians, and Conservative Methodists.
It does not speak for me.

Well, I see alot of chilish tantrums on all sides I like Fred, I hope he gets the nomination. If not I’ll still be a Republican, and I’ll be dammed if I’ll sit this one out! I have not seen many freepers saying the same. Truly pathetic bunch of babies.

Look, he needs to be asking VOTERS, not evangelicals. It is just thoroughly insulting for him to advocate for Fred in this manner.wrong

Agree on promoting Hunter. Huck's nanny state stuff is a real concern. After that it's a crap shoot.
I think Mitt is much more dangerous.

What social issues are we talking about?
Then show me what Governor Huckabee has ever DONE on these same social issues.
And then tell me if that is the job of the President or whether the issues you are discussing are rightly matters that should be left to the governors.

Evangelicals were given no choice but to find their own candidate so how can people complain now. I am an Evangelical Christian, and I think Huckabee is a liar and a terrible, awful choice.
You make is sound like it is impossible to vote for anyone but the Huckster.
I, and many that I have spoken to in my church, support Fred Thompson.

Wrong again!
This is only insulting to those who are practicing identity politics and also those who really don't care about having a moderate to liberal Republican as this party's nominee.
To: Abbeville Conservative
I think it's true. Go back and look at the earlier threads. If a conservative was supported at the beginning, this would not be an issue. A large part of the party felt they weren't represented. As things settle down I think more will lean towards DH or FT. We'll see.

If you have to hold your nose to vote R - that might be smarter than cutting it off

Do I? I’m supporting Duncan Hunter but I know a lot of people that support this man . They are good people and I don’t like seeing them posted as second class or less inteligent by others.
