"My question for you evangelicals is this. If youre looking for a real conservative, why are you supporting Huckabee? Hes completely discredited himself. What about Fred Thompson? If youre looking for a real conservative. Huckabee is constantly engaging in class warfare against the producers. This laid-off line, its an attack on Romney, but its an attack on producers. Its an attack on employers. Its pure populism. He does oppose school choice! You dont get the NEA endorsement in New Hampshire by supporting school choice."

Fred is not as good on social issues and all the talking in the world is not going to change it.True. But the GOP is a coalition of various factions. Coalitions require that all factions find the candidate to be at least acceptable. Most of the other factions find Huckabee completely unacceptable. We need to find a candidate who unites us, not one who divides us.
United we stand. Divided we fall.

Hey..my MIL told me that her family have been Democrats for generations and that she will always vote Democrat.
My mother wouldn't vote for Dubya because something his daddy did or didn't do.

Yes, he always spoke well of the old man, and we weren’t Mormons - he’ll win in MI no matter what because of his dad’s legacy. But Fred’s okay, better than Huckabee or McCain for sure.

it is good at least that he can get them peeling away from the Huckster. although Rush should promote Hunter, TOO. At any rate, knocking off that phony, open borders, nanny state HUCK is definitely job #1.

Well, my faction finds Huckabee more acceptable than Thompson. That’s why we have primaries.

"The Ghost of FReepers Past chooses Huckabee based on his POLITICAL positions, not Huckabee’s faith." It means that he is for a big government, tax increases, amnesty, nanny state.

Well, my faction finds Huckabee more acceptable than Thompson. That’s why we have primaries. If Huckabee is the GOP nominee, many of those in other factions will stay home on election day. And there's not much you or I can do about it. It's the Law of Coalitions. Violate it at your peril.

Yes, and back at you. I find many of the candidates that unacceptable as well. We can’t predict it ahead of time. I’ve been saying for months that I didn’t like the top candidates. Well finally a candidate I find acceptable is doing well. Clearly the faction that agrees with me is very large. See Iowa caucus results.

Unfortunately the SoCons will not vote for any other kind of conservative. To make matters worse, now he needs to be a minister.
To: Invincibly Ignorant
Apparently not. That's just arrogant and insulting.

Not at the convention, I mean at the primaries that are in this state that won’t really matter because this state is so late. RNC delegates are bound here, unless the candidate cuts you loose.
The old man was a friend of his, worked for him for years.
