TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."

Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state. But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

She won’t drop out. She’ll go nuclear first. By the time Super-Duper Tuesday is over, she and Obama will have had a complete nuclear exchange, leaving the Democratic playing field a smoldering pile of rubble.

She might skip South Carolina. Party rules say they can’t campaign in MI and FLA, but she is on the ballots there and will most likely carry them. In the meantime the Operations Research guys figure out how to trash Obama before February 5th.

Just out of curiosity, what states would The Beast have to lose for her to seriously consider dropping out? There has to be some that would be telling enough for her to see no possiblility of getting the nomination. What are the states to watch for?

"Does anyone here think Obama is any less dangerous than Hillary?"

Not me.

I don’t see the Clintons going to the back seat of the bus.

Obama would be a total idiot if he let’s Hillary on the ticket.

That part about her running out of money is laughable. Lobbyists and foreign sources are pouring millions into the Clinton foundation. They have millions stashed in off-shore accounts.

Smaller democrat supporters may stop sending her money once they see she’s a lost cause, but there’s lots of dough to keep this hack in the race.

Now we need to see the media move to destroy her, which would be the final death blow. Let’s see someone ask her to list her accomplishments, start taking her apart as she rattles off things her husband did. If she mentions welfare reform, remind everyone she voted against it all the way down the line. If she claims balancing the budget, she voted against it, etc..

The people are sheeple, if the MSM starts to run with the Boston Globe line ; “she so yesterday”, she’s finished. The democraps want a win in 2008, and that's more important than their loyalty to the Rapist.. How much more damage will they allow the Clinton's to do to the party ???

Hillary will stay in and steal the nomination at the convention with her overwhelming lead in Super-Delegates.

Oh, man -- if she manages to lose most of the primaries but win the nomination anyway because of some arcane convention rules, pass the popcorn....

“I believe this is so because some people out there such as like Alabama and Obama and South Africa don’t have maps, and..”

Now that’s funny.

My thoughts exactly. They want to pain this as doom and gloom for the Beast. And when she wins Super Tuesday they will gush all over themselves about how she really is unbeatable. If a black man can’t beat her in the democrat primaries...then how can the republican’s possibly beat her in the general election. (Of course their viewpoint is that the entire US is liberal).

That is correct! I keep on mentioning that too, but many people here say that the superdelegates are not locked up. Thats nonsense. The DNC is NOT a democracy by any means.

This brings a whole new definition to the phrase: You go girl!

"RUN HILLARY RUN" Bumper Sticker

Instructions for Democrats:
Affix to rear bumper of vehicle.

Instructions for Republicans:
Affix to front bumper of vehicle.

Great great great! Let’s just hope she is pushed out. If Obama gets the nomination, then Thompson or a solid presidential cnadidate will easily wipe the floor with him.

"perhaps fight another day."

There si no "another day".

If she loses here she is done. She also may be in big trouble in New York when she has to run again.
