In tonight's debate Mike Huckabee accused Romney of not supporting the troop surge when he did: "I supported the president in the war before you did. I supported the surge when you didn't."
Transcript:
One Year Ago, Gov. Huckabee Did Not Offer His Support For The Surge:
MSNBC's NORAH O'DONNELL: "We have a Rudy Giuliani, who supports the president's plan on Iraq. We have Governor Mitt Romney, who also supports a troop surge. How are you different from any of those candidates."
HUCKABEE: "Well, I'm not sure that I support the troop surge, if that surge has to come from our Guard and Reserve troops, which have really been overly stretched."
Huck's a freakin LIAR. He proves it once again.
Want to revise that critique of Romney Gov. Huckabee?
This guy has no shame (but his fawning masses of evangelicals will give him a pass on this too, I'm sure).
Good information. Thanks.
Thnks for the video. Once again the huckster is exposed as a liar. He likes to attack Mitt Romney in a very underhanded way, like he’s not really trying to do so. What a jerk.
Thanks for the video link. Beyond the surge issue, it certainly suggests a potential “big government” agenda on the part of Huck.
Not only will his fawning masses of evangelicals give him a pass on this, but all the oh, so complimentary dims and their lapdogs, the MSM. They are drooling all over themselves at the prospect of the GOP being saddled with the Huckabilly.
He does it so easy too!
This guy is a snake.
Fred is the real deal, too bad he doesn’t know how to BS his way in front of a camera, which is what the GOP wants nowadays.
Chris Wallace tried to hit the Huckster with this today. Huck tried to turn it into an issue about reservists and the NG being overused for the surge. Very slippery, IMO.
Another Huckalie? (VANITY) |

What will be the next fib? |
He knows how. He just has too much character to do it. And I agree with your tagline.
This kind of thing is not good. If he ends up as our nominee the Dems surely will hit him as a flip flopper and he will end up failing because of it. Not that he would have much of a chance of winning anyway.
He presented the lie with grace and conviction. He is no less of a pathological liar than the Clinton's....Clearly a democrat dressed in a republicans suit.
No doubt, my dog would bite him on sight.
This seems to indicate that, like a certain candidate in the last presidential election, he is a compulsive embellisher of the facts. Not the kind of guy you want to have with you in fighting a war.
Can Huck and Mitt just get married so they will quit bothering us?
Wow, I was under the impression that while Huckabee is misguided in a lot of policy matters, he is basically a nice, honest guy. Recent evidence saying otherwise continues to make me doubt my initial assessment. In fact, that he thinks such sub-Clintonian lies are campaign material is taken as a personal insult.

How about running the ad you said you didn’t. I’m telling you he is slicker than WJC and likewise I would not be surprised to see him nominated for that reason. no one else is that slick in the GOP.
I knew he would spin it that way. Unfortunately, I don’t think his lies will matter. People are willing to accept any load of dung that comes out of his mouth as explanation for any lie he tells. I’ve seen it here on FR. When even conservatives are willing to be conned, I’m afraid it is all lost.
The man is slippery. It must be a prerequisite to become governor in Arkansas.
I think he was saying that he wont support the surge if it is coming from the Guard and Reserve which as a Soldier myself, knows that the weekend warriors are way over deployed due to the Clinton cutbacks and former Sec Defense Rumsfield refusing to rebuild the Army faster.
