Many Americans like to know that the underdog can win, Mike Huckabee said on Friday morning, fresh off his first-place showing in the Iowa Republican caucuses.
Huckabee joked about being the "Seabiscuit" candidate, a reference the thoroughbred race horse that defeated a Triple Crown champion in 1938 after a lackluster start to his career.
In an interview on "Fox & Friends" Friday, Huckabee said people are connecting to his campaign "because I'm talking about how to make America better." He said he won't change what he's doing because it's working.
The Limbaugh factor
Asked about Rush Limbaugh's comments that Huckabee is not a true Ronald Reagan conservative, Huckabee responded that he was an early supporter of Ronald Reagan when Reagan ranked last in the polls.
Limbaugh called Fox News Thursday night, saying Huckabee doesn't have "Reagan credentials" and that very few of the Republican candidates do.) Huckabee said he finds the criticism "ridiculous."

Huckabee said he "loves" Rush Limbaugh, but he doesn't understand what information Limbaugh is basing his criticism on. "I've been a big fan of his show for many years, and I hope to make it so someday he loves me as much as I love him." Limbaugh has said he's looking at Huckabee's record as Arkansas governor.
And there you your answers!... I like what I hear... it seems to me he is being VERY CLEAR
:)
Indeed it is.
Does anyone think Huckabee will be strong amongst socially conservative, but otherwise not so conservative Catholics? I’m not describing all Catholics, but many in my area of Northern New Mexico fit this description. We had a conservative preacher win against a popular, liberal Hispanic candidate who decided to champion women’s rights and abortion. Old Hispanics turned out in big numbers to elect a white, protestant conservative. If Huckabee has the same effect on Catholics here, he will win New Mexico in a walk. Any thoughts? Has anyone considered this?
