The only pleasure I got out of the results tonight is that Romney and Hillary were beaten.

Big time.

Iowa voters are still sorta dumb. Not dumb enough to fall for Romeny but dumb enough to go for Huck.

Yeah, they really staked their claim to irrelevance tonight. They drank the Huckster's Jesus juice? Sheesh. Maybe Fred should have done a tent revival, complete with rattlesnakes. Those wacky Iowans would have LOVED that....

I can’t agree with you more. He was a sham candidate even more so than Huckabee. When will the GOP elite learn that it takes more than being good at business and slick looks to be electable in Republican politics. John Ellis hits the nail on the head. Romney like his religion leaves one thinking “why?”.
What is the point?

We have electable conservative candidates that had they a third of the money he blew in Iowa they would be riding high. I don’t think Mitt is out until after Super Tuesday but he will receive pressure like he has never received when he loses NH and South Carolina.

Hillary’s loss was sweet wasn’t it? Obama will be a difficult one to campaign against but a brave candidate can do it. Romney could not and I don’t believe Huck could. (He’d get too caught up saying nice things about him and down playing liberal and conservative differences) Thompson, McCain and Rudy are the only ones who have the temerity to go after him.

Iowa voters are still sorta dumb. Not dumb enough to fall for Romeny but dumb enough to go for Huck.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pretty shrewd planning.

And then there is the Arkansas connection. Hillery could very well have planned to lose in Iowa to get this dynamic rolling, with large numbers of Hillery supporters registering as Republicans to vote for Huckabee.

As usual, when the Clintons are involved, we can always assume the worst, and those assumptions are usually right.

Iowans are not dumb, but the consensus is that they are. Iowans may have simply followed a game plan with Bill Clinton calling the strategic shots in the background.

A lot of Hucks voters were actually democrats who had changed their registrations to Republican, according to anecdotal evidence. But the dems only show their voters by percentages in Iowa, we do not get the numbers. The dems pushed Huckster, so that the nations swing voters will assume that the religious right is trying to take over the country.

Pretty shrewd planning.
