A Hard Loss for Romney By John Ellis
It's one thing to lose as you are. What you lose is an election, but there's always another election and in the case of presidential primary politics, a new electorate that awaits you in the next state. It's another thing to lose as you aren't. Mitt Romney was never the 700 Club right-winger his campaign managers conceived. He was and is a man of business and a very capable one at that.
He's all but doomed now. Senator John McCain will beat him in New Hampshire, probably by a lot, and Romney's media coverage will evaporate and his candidacy will consequently die. On January 9, his managers will walk in and say that the campaign needs $10 million or $15 million to continue and that he, Romney, will have to write the check. Everyone who would contribute has maxed out. Everyone who might won't. Two-time losers don't get new money. It's a basic rule of politics.

Damn!!!
Why don't your Living Prophet's just ASK GOD and get a witness and quit all this goofing off!!??
You're half right.
“Accept us as ‘Christians’ or else you prove you are bad Americans!”
huh?!? I’m Catholic. One True Faith. I don’t need your acceptance of it. God’s acceptance will do fine. Which apostate sect are you in?
Scientology is a newer religion than Mormonism...

Don't make fun of them,
they have a right to have
their moronic beliefs respected.

What sort of cheese would you like with that Mormon whine? Is that the ‘paly ale’ variety?

It sounds like you’re describing Gore’s attitude towards the Presidency, circa 2000.
It appears it took a while to figger out!
[The following was written by Edwin Rushton in the mid-1850's. It is alleged to have been given by Joseph Smith in May 1843 in the presence of Rushton and Theodore Turley. It was never accepted as authentic by the Church and was officially disavowed in the October 1918 General Conference. --DCA, 3/14/1998]
You hit the nail on the head.
Rommyyyyy will be taking his pretty face off our TVs soon...I hope.

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the otherThis is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, Never mind, all is wellI am well enough off. I then said to my mother, I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.
Yup!
Just like Hillary!
We just LOVE to be second, for being first just draws unnecessary attention to us!
He beat Mitt ;^)
He beat Mitt ;^)
WHAT!?
You sure fooled me!
From your remarks it appears you are a running dog for the Mormons!

Mormons are the Samaritans in our midst, check out what Jesus had to say about the Jewish pharisees’ prejudice towards them. There is no evangelism in these anti-mormon screeds, nor is it of relevence to the election. Repeatedly dragging the irrelevent and divisive charges against LDS is not helpful nor informative nor meaningful. It’s just picking at sores. It belongs elsewhere.
You sure are quick in wrapping yourself in Christ when defending the bashers. But you were called to speak the truth in love. (Ephesians 4:15) You smear that truth as political correctness. Better you try it for a change.
“Perhaps someday you will pay attention to that ‘still small voice within’ which calls you to Him for salvation.”
Perhaps someday you will not be so presumptuous of someone’s relationship with God simply because they call for a bit of tolerance. I’ll be reading from St Paul to Ephesians in church this Sunday and think of you as I do it.
“We can add you to the pray list, if you like.” First pray for grace, compassion and wisdom among the voters. And yourself.
Maybe God is about to teach us a lesson, but a different one from what you’d expect. The GOP is turning inwards and tearing itself up, and prejudice and division is leading to bad voting decisions; while the Democrats vote for a new hope and someone who certainly would defy many stereotypes of an ‘acceptable’ President. Yes, I think a probable outcome of this will be a Democrat victory.
Jimmy Carter is not imaginary. He was the worst President of our lifetimes. He got into office because enough evangelical voters thought “Sothern Baptist” meant “good” and ignored the many other red flags about this man.
It was dumb narrow-minded voting behavior like that which gets bad people elected.
Reagan is not imaginary. he was not better than Carter because he was more Christian, he was better because he was a real leader and a real conservative - for tax cuts, strong military and personal responsibility.
“However, all this is irrelevant.”
Your use of a religious litmus test is what should be irrelevant. It’s not that I would vote for any particular sect - it’s that I would vote for the REAGAN over the CARTER every time, irrespective of his denomination.
“From your remarks it appears you are a running dog for the Mormons!”
Just a Catholic with a thing for religious tolerance, is all.
Your memory is weak. I’ve corrected you before on this in previous Mormon-bash threads.
“He beat Mitt ;^)”
The CLUSTERHUCK is who and why he won over Mitt.
Wrong man for the wrong reasons.
