I thought the time was right to start up a live thread for results and comments about tonight, so here we are!
Well thought out and logical
Leni
I cant help but wonder if the people voting for him are even THINKING about winning a general election? This guy gets clocked by any Democrat this side of Cynthia McKinney.
Im hoping Fred stays in and goes hard after SC. If he falters, though, Rudy is starting to look better and better. Huckster could destroy the GOP for a generation.
Goober, is right! I'm no fan of Huckabee, that's for sure. I hate to be a downer, but I just don't see Fred getting anywhere. I had high hopes for Hunter as well...and in truth, I still do. I think Hunter has a bright future and may eventually become President, but not this go-round.
FNC is no longer my internet home page.
My sense is that the recent growth in McCain support is, to quite an extent, the support that Huckabee has lost over the last few weeks in the "Huckabust".
Well thought out and logical
Hillary is crushing Bill’s balls as Barak bin Laden gives his victory speech
A worthy observation. Thanks. I'll take that thought to bed with me. The rest of what's going through my head right now is not conducive to a good night's sleep.
Ive finally returned to Internet access, and let me tell you that caucus was one of the coolest things Ive ever seen!
Romney really cleaned up in the Republican precincts here at Kirn Junior High School in Council Bluffs but he obviously didnt cut it in Iowa overall.
As the results shake out, nothing is settled on the Republican side, except that Romney is the only Republican loser of the night. Its hard to see how he comes back from this.
Huckabee wins, of course evidently, he found the holy grail of the caucuses, expanding the pool. Thompson did much better than expected, as did McCain. Rudy Giuliani watches the race stay unresolved long enough that his late strategy could work. And even Ron Paul made double digits.
But Romney is in big trouble now. McCain is poised to knock him out in the next round. If that happens, whom does it benefit in South Carolina? Thompson? Huckabee?
The Dem caucus I attended was even more fun. More on that later...

I think that I heard a blurb on Fox tonight that he just borrowed 3 mil to keep his campaign going.
I just don't get it.
McCain tied for third = great shape going into NH.
Thompson tied for third = should hang it up.
Fools all. I still see Huck fading. Unless Romney wins NH, he's in a deep hole too. A wide open brokered convention this summer is a good possibility.
The positive that I see is that whoever wins, likely trounces the Dem candidate. Obama is a wanna-be.
Better get some glass cleaner for your eyes...
Obama took on a MLK accent.
Man, we better get ready for Obama. I thought Hillary was a lock but he just might be for real.
whatsa matter with you? FR is MY homepage -always has been!
“What I really do not understand is that the Huckabee supporters keep saying he is pro-life, he is pro-life, he is prolife. Well Fred is also pro-life and was endorsed by the National Right To Life Associaton over all the other Republican candidates. Guess Huckabee supporters dont really care about immigration, higher taxes, bringing the terrorists to US jails, nanny state dictates, and on and on. Seems to me on just the pro-life issue, the Huckabee supporters are going for the wrong guy.”
I agree, it defies logic.
No desire to listen to his garbage and turned it off to watch local news
66% chance of being the White House race come NOV. 2008.....with Obama in a landslide victory over Huckabee if historic trends are taken into account..........
My take on that is that the recent growth in McCain support is, to quite an extent, the support that Huckabee has lost over the last few weeks in the "Huckabust".
I think there is a member of the Taliban in the crowd behind Obama.
