“He is certainly not alone in being a gay bishop; he’s certainly not alone in being a gay partnered bishop,” Jefferts Schori said in an interview broadcast Tuesday. “He is alone in being the only gay partnered bishop who’s open about that status.”
We all sin. But the intent is not to ADVOCATE it. Appointing a representative of a church should entail someone who at least attempts to live by the most basic principals and teachings of what is preached. Stating that there are more who are gay makes about as much sense as me saying “Well their are many who commit adultery and pedophilia.” Just like it would be inappropriate to pick a skirt chaser who lives out his fantasy of getting laid as much as possible, so is it inappropriate to pick someone living a gay lifestyle.
It is a choice! This man chose to live with another man and be gay. Bottom line, the Episcopal church is embracing people who choose to live out deviant sexual, morally objectionable, and Christian incompatible behavior. Bestowing people like this with titles and allowing them to teach others about the very values they choose to not uphold is simply put, stupid.
GMTA .. I guess I was channeling you as I typed.
