How to Have a Happy New Year
1) REVISIT THE BEATITUDES
Matthew 5:3-12
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the gentle,
for they shall inherit the earth......
2) DON'T WORRY ABOUT MATERIAL THINGS
Matthew 6:19-20
Do not lay up for yourselves
treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal,
but lay up for yourselves treasures in HEAVEN....
3) FOCUS ON THE FUTURE--NOT ON THE PAST
Philippians 3:13-14
...one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind
and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press onward toward the goal
for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus.
4) CONSIDER OTHERS RATHER THAN OURSELVES
John 15:13
"Greater love has no one than this,
that one lay down his life for his friends."
Acts 20:35
....He Himself said, "It is more blessed
to give than to receive."
5) TAKE JOY IN THE LORD
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I will say, rejoice.
6) BEWARE OF THE ENEMY
Ephesians 6:10-12
...Be strong in the Lord
and in the strength of his might.
Put on the full armour of God,
that you may be able to stand
firm against the schemes of the devil.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the.....spiritual forces
of wickedness in the heavenly places.
7) DO EVERYTHING TO THE GLORY OF GOD
1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether then you eat or drink
or whatever you do,
DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD!
