I think you are mixing up two different people. Nawaz Sharif is a former prime minister and opposition figure. According to the reports I have read it was him, not Musharaff, at the hospital.

I know the difference between the two people you mention, but I thought I did hear that on the news (Sky News). Now, I admit I could have heard the names wrongly, and thus I may have heard the other name, instead. But, I thought I did hear Musharaff (but their accents are somewhat strange to my ears and I have to strain to hear these things right). That’s all I can claim right now... :-)

P.S. — But, I did also hear, at the same time, that Musharaff was also going on national TV to make an announcement (at a pre-announced and scheduled time).
