Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been critically injured after a suspected suicide attack at a political rally in Pakistan.
It was believed to be a suicide attackShe is undergoing emergency surgery at a nearby hospital, Sky News sources say.
The explosion went off just after Ms Bhutto left the rally in Rawalpindi, minutes after her speech to thousands of people.
“The Useless Nations were probably co-conspirators w/the terrorist organization.”
Nah. That’d require too much organization and competence
But, now that I think of it, the only thing that could REALLY get the UN riled up is Paki oil or manufacturing kickbacks drying up. I actually buy many glass and steel goods from Pakistan...
Good analysis bump! We'll see if this does turn out to be a clearing the decks assessment as others here have alluded to, especially with nukes potentially in play.
Steyn (Benazir Bhutto) has also smacked the State Dept geniuses' "shotgun marriage" policy.
Whatever the case, hopefully our intel and counter-terror folks are on high alert at this point...
Nice. Thanks for the link, batter.
This is the ultimate in Clintonian response, and Team Clinton ‘research.’ In their collective rush to get Hillary to the cameras, a 1995 photo op was remembered...no need to research (what they can’t even use Wiki?) how many kids BB had. No need to fact check....just let the feelings flow....

Sexy, neh? Wrap a petite, 5-9 brown eyed brunette around it and you’ve got a real firecracker <3
Thanks for the link to the Mark Steyn piece; good analysis. I remember him saying earlier that she had been his next-door neighbor.
PER FNC: All schools and banks in Pakistan will remain closed for 3 days to quell unrest....
I just got quizy at the thought of it.
Sorry; I don't quite grasp arabic syntax...
Is too!
Take it easy there with the complex, realistic thinking.... er, uh, “nuance.”
*Wink*
from another board:
Cell phone connections and online newspapers are reportedly being shut-down in Pakistan. Cell phones, for those unaquainted with the area, is the best and most-easily available mode of communication for middle-class people. Online newspapers aren’t subjected to same degree of government censorship as print media. With those two down, the military government is in better than black-out, it can dictate the content that is still open.
Pakistani intelligence agencies, ISI, as well as Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) and Pakistani Intelligence Bureau (PIB), are clearly upto something... time will tell what it is.
The guy on Hannity’s radio show now (don’t know who) saying that there’s no way AQ was responsible for this and that it was most likely Pakistan’s intelligence service.
“one can only conclude that she had a conscious death-wish.”
One can also conclude that Ms. Bhutto lived to satisfy a higher standard than her mere physical existence in this world. She had some ideals and principles which guided her actions. She was not going to be intimidated into a life of fear. She evidently had an understanding with her God and looked beyond this life for happiness and success. May her soul rest in peace and the love of God.
Cell phones are how terrorists operate too.....
Right on bro!
Glorifying nuances beats the hell out of facing facts.
Just saying...
When you're right you're right. Al-Qaeda is getting all the financial and "moral" support it needs to exist (and to continue operating) from the planet Vulcan.
Weak strawman fallacy.
I never said that Al Qaeda's money sources aren't a problem, too.
Instead it was you who made "planet Vulcan" type arguments
You dismissed Al Qaeda as a Red Herring and you compared Al Qaeda to such scapegoat objects as a gun and an SUV.
Well, reports of riots are going around, yeesh. Almost 2AM there...when’s local sunrise?
That was Mansoor Ijaz.
