Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.
Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?
Look at the latest CNN poll:”WASHINGTON (CNN) Call it an early Christmas gift for Hillary Clintons campaign: A new Iowa poll seems to show the New York senator with a stunning double-digit lead over her nearest rival among likely Democratic caucus-goers.
Clinton and Obama were neck-and-neck in last weeks American Research Group poll. But in the new survey, conducted December 20-23, she leads the Illinois senator by 15 percentage points, 34 to 19 percent. Obama is now in a statistical tie for second place with former North Carolina senator John Edwards, who has 20 percent of the vote.
According to the poll, Obama has lost some ground among male voters in Iowa: Last week, he led the field with 27 percent support, followed by 21 for Clinton and 19 for Edwards. This week, the leaders are Clinton and Edwards, with 28 and 27 percent support among Democratic men. Obama has 16 percent support, and Joe Biden has 11 percent”
Factor in the poll’s margin of error, and the truth is that Obama may still be ahead. Or this could be a terrible sample.
At this point the Iowa polls are really hamburger helper polls, commissioned to give the msm something to hang its opinions on to pass as news.
He will differentiate himself from the other candidates by announcing his support for capitalism.
You mean in his belly, right?
I think his campaign said last week there would be upcoming major surprises. So we shall see.
I still am at a loss to explain the Huckaboom which i hope goes bust...but politics is strange these days...Come to think about it so are some of the politicians.
Thompson 65.8%
Romney 13.5%
Giuliani 9.1%
Huckabee 6.4%
McCain 5.1%
I think that the MSM has it wrong. Just my opinion, though.
i am so tired of the ragging on Fred’s appearance when we were all about bashing the plastic looks of the botox Kerry. if people aren’t for fred, fine, but to decry his appearance makes no sense. if you were kidding, i am sorry, but i am out of patience for some of the crap posted here.
Intriguing ping!
FRed has decided to take the lead role in the next James Bond movie!
You do realize I was berating the Romney supporter by pointing out that 65.8% of Free Republicans are Fred Thompson supporters using sarcasm and that they would not jump to Romney if Fred dropped out.
Was that really necessary?
and this thread is rife with said crap!
Why not? Rumors of virility didn’t hurt Strom Thurmond’s career.
You prognosticate like Dick Morris— poorly.
What an asinine thing to say.
FALSHBACK: December 2003
(CBS) Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean has pulled away from the field in the Democratic Presidential nomination race: his support among Democratic primary voters nationwide has risen in the past month, and held steady after the news of Saddam Hussein’s capture. But the race remains open: more than half of Democratic voters still have no opinion of Dean, most have not made up their minds for sure, and large numbers remain undecided.
Dean has been a vociferous critic of the Iraq war. Most voters believe, as Dean does, that the U.S. is no safer from terror in the wake of the arrest of Saddam Hussein. And while Deans rise may have been helped along by former Vice-President Al Gores recent endorsement, most primary voters say Gores nod makes no difference to them.
Dean has the backing of 23 percent of likely primary voters, the same as he did in the days just prior to Saddam’s capture, and up from 14 percent in November. His nearest rivals today are Wesley Clark and Joe Lieberman, both at 10 percent.
Polls.
*spit*
Where do the polls register and vote???
Add Rudy and McCain to that list too.
You know, some of are not anti-Mitt. We're pro-Fred! However we do get tired of hearing the Mittwitts parroting the following DBM propaganda:
I like Fred, but his campaign is a lost cause. He has no fire left.
