Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters see Rudy Giuliani as politically moderate or liberal. Fifty-nine percent (59%) say the same about John McCain while 43% hold that view of Mitt Romney. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 41% now see Mike Huckabee as moderate or liberal and 39% see Fred Thompson in that manner.

For all the candidates except John McCain, those figures are higher than a month ago.

Huckabee has seen the biggest jump—15 percentage points (41% now while a month ago 26% said he was moderate or liberal). Still, 43% view him a politically conservative (up five points from a month ago). What is your strategy? Do you sit and wait for a promising Fred thread, and flame away to try to change the tone to negative? You are a desperate guy dude. Try to build your guy up, rather than instinctively slip into attack mode against a fine conservative. Shame.

To me, it is beyond baffling that Duncan Hunter fails to score in the top 6 among conservative Republicans.

EXACTLY..ME TOO.

I don't care about it, as long as he's not trying to foist it on everyone. I've no evidence of that. Or that he's a particularly devout/enthusiastic practitioner in the first place.

It's his politics I can't stand. Most especially his stand and record on the RKBA.

You left off the fact there is nothing to build up for Mitt. At least not on a conservative site....

—”Fred will drop out soon after Iowa and endorse his buddy McCain.”—

After Tancredo’s stunt, nothing would surprise me.

If you'll notice, I said some. I don't collect for the purpose of collecting. I get what I can afford, when I can afford it. And I get what I think I might need. I've actually got another handgun, another rifle, and another shotgun, but none of those are for serious social or political purposes, although in a pinch, they could be pressed into such service. The other pistol is a replacement for an older one that has gone missing. The other rifle was my second firearms purchase, even before the missing pistol. The shotgun is a replacement for the one I'd had since I was 15. (should have kept it instead of trading it in, my daughters could have shot it).

My father-in-law, MHRIP, was the one that led me to the "dark side" of center fire pistols and rifles, but even he didn't have a shotgun expressly for serious social purposes. :)

Better start sweating then. A little goldfinch told me FRed and myth were dead even Saturday am, and huckster is only 4 points in front of 'em. :)

Sadly, most people (Freepers included) would rather be on the popular side than the right side.
***There’s a lot of truth in what you say.

Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and he’s got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.

.

.

.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.

Among republicans, only Fred Thompson is seen as less liberal than Mitt Romney, and only 8% see Mitt as Liberal (I think they all post here at FR).

Also, about the same number see Fred as moderate as see Romney as a moderate, and Fred’s and Romney’s Moderate/liberal numbers are only 4 points apart, which may well be in the margin of error, as may be the “liberal” separation of 5% (if the poll is the typical +/- 4, or even +/- 3, Romney could actually be as low as 5% and Fred 6% in the liberal category.

This pretty much puts to bet the idea that Romney is some wild-eyed liberal.

Now, if you could just ban all the non-fred supporters from the actual election, you’d be set.

It’s a lot easier to win the fight if you get your buddies to hold down the other man.

Easier still to win an argument your opponent is silenced.

Even EASIER to win an argument, or a fight, if your opponent is told that they can’t fight back or else they will be terminated.

Something’s wrong with your link, I couldn’t find that poll result there.

You should be careful, some people are getting banned for posting inaccurate poll numbers.

That link... is OBVIOUSLY not a link to the poll referenced, which was a private poll... But, it is pretty clear that your guy is tanking and will probably pull up third in Iowa after having blown millions.

And let’s look at New Hampshire next.

This kind of publicity will do Romney a WORLD of good there:

“Last week Romney was reduced to debating what the meaning of “saw” is. It was only the latest in a string of demonstrably false claims — he’d been a hunter “pretty much” all his life, he’d had the NRA’s endorsement, he marched with Martin Luther King Jr. himself — that call into question the veracity of his justifications for switching sides on immigration, abortion, taxes and his affection for Ronald Reagan.

“In this primary, the more Mitt Romney speaks, the less believable he becomes. That is why Granite Staters who have listened attentively are now returning to John McCain. They might not agree with McCain on everything, as we don’t, but like us, they judge him to be a man of integrity and conviction, a man who won’t sell them out, who won’t break his promises, and who won’t lie to get elected.

“Voters can see that John McCain is trustworthy. Mitt Romney has spent a year trying to convince Granite Staters that he is as well. It looks like they aren’t buying it. And for good reason.”

Union-Leader
