Bailey, a career officer who had been appointed chief by Huckabee's Democratic predecessor

Gee, I wonder why this little tidbit from the Newsweek article was left out of the blog. And I'm not defending his Son, but lets get real.

Like everybody here when they were 17 was spending their time helping little old ladies across the street. Let you in on a little secret, I got busted a couple times as a teen, but because my Dad's restaurant was the favorite hangout of the police, I was quickly released. Oh, and did I mention a stray cat that lived under our house had kittens. I adopted one of them, and when mommy cat came to try and kill it, I kicked it, and broke its neck. Yes, like most of you, I was a dumb teenager, who knew nothing about life except what a godless school system taught me.

Lets get back to real issues, not some teenage prank gone bad. If this is going to be the typical level of debate on FR for the next year, we are in far more trouble than I ever imagined.

“The mommy cat came to try and kill it so I kicked it and broke it’s neck.” You are one sick pup.

However, the real issue here as far as Huckabee is concerned is his attempt to use his authority to influence law enforcement for his own benefit. Sound like any other Arkansas politicians you know?

Didn’t you have parents?

School’s for only 3 r’s not 4.

Don’t blame the schools for your parents failure to instill a decent regard for living things.

No, not all of us were getting in trouble at 17, or earlier. Much less killing animals. I hate people shrugging off bad behavior of children because “it’s a stage we all go through”. BS.

Just FYI.

I will let you in on a little seceret a lot of us did not beat animals to death as kids. Or have run in with the cops. But the real issue here is not that The real issue is blatant abuse of authority and then retaliating on people that resisted that abuse. Those are very real issues. If you think the nuances of someone's stance on some issue is more imporant than them blatantly abusing their position then we are in far more trouble than I ever imagined.

I kicked it, and broke its neck.

Heavenly words in your screen name, but no remorse, no conscience for your actions. Rather, you pat yourself on the back for your accomplishments. You don't fool anyone but yourself.

You think that was a normal thing to do? Did you at least bury the poor thing? Sorry but I think that is beyond dumb! You sound very silly blaming school for the sin you committed in killing that cat. Own up to the fact you are a animal killer & it wasn't anyone's fault but your own. I hope you don't have any animals. Shaking my head. I wonder if you bothered to take care of the rest of the kittens. I may have been a dumb teenager once but I wasn't ever an animal killer. Most people don't brag about killing animals unless they hunt or the animal was a threat to them somehow. Did you have friends as a teen?

I guess your question is "how do I avoid responsibility for my own actions?"
I think you've turned the answer on it's head. I would hope.

This teenager was the son of a well known pastor. I would think he would have known something about God, and life.
