Either way, you'd think a 17-year old would know NOT to torture ANY animal, mange or not. There are vastly more humane ways to put an animal down.

One would hope that a child at any age would not be inclined to torture an animal. If a child of any age does something in this vein it is a big alert to major problems that lie within.
I would not turn my head to such an action of any age.
Having said that ..the cover up and cover of his son is very disturbing to me.
