..But John Bailey, then the director of Arkansass state police, tells NEWSWEEK that Governor Huckabees chief of staff and personal lawyer both leaned on him to write a letter officially denying the local prosecutors request. Bailey, a career officer who had been appointed chief by Huckabees Democratic predecessor, said he viewed the lawyers intervention as improper and terminated the conversation. Seven months later, he was called into Huckabees office and fired. Ive lost confidence in your ability to do your job, Bailey says Huckabee told him. One reason Huckabee cited was I couldnt get you to help me with my son when I had that problem, according to Bailey. Without question, [Huckabee] was making a conscious attempt to keep the state police from investigating his son, says I. C. Smith, the former FBI chief in Little Rock, who worked closely with Bailey and called him a courageous and very solid professional

That is absolutely horrible.
A purple boa is really not the look for him. He should consult a new couture.
Huckabee wasn't even governor 8 months ago.
That can’t be the real son, that is a joke right?
His son is a sick individual....and it will affect Huckabee's campaign. In Middle America there isn't anything much worse than mistreating a dog
Huckabee is cooked, the polls just haven’t caught up with the news yet.
Too funny.
He is a big fella.
Sorry, pre-caffeine expectation that you would read my mind.
An example of a psychopath known to not have been abused as a child or be the offspring of a psychopathic parent.
Thanks.
FYI, Mark....
Another photo for comparison during David's school daze at Arkansas State University. David was crowned Homecoming King in 2001:
Clintons, if they did this, are really stupid. So, I doubt they released it. The story would have been held until the general election after Huckster gets the nod.
Gee, I wonder why this little tidbit from the Newsweek article was left out of the blog. And I'm not defending his Son, but lets get real.
Like everybody here when they were 17 was spending their time helping little old ladies across the street. Let you in on a little secret, I got busted a couple times as a teen, but because my Dad's restaurant was the favorite hangout of the police, I was quickly released. Oh, and did I mention a stray cat that lived under our house had kittens. I adopted one of them, and when mommy cat came to try and kill it, I kicked it, and broke its neck. Yes, like most of you, I was a dumb teenager, who knew nothing about life except what a godless school system taught me.
Lets get back to real issues, not some teenage prank gone bad. If this is going to be the typical level of debate on FR for the next year, we are in far more trouble than I ever imagined.
I’m guessing the Queen was less than thrilled...and kept her dogs away from the King.
“The mommy cat came to try and kill it so I kicked it and broke it’s neck.” You are one sick pup.
However, the real issue here as far as Huckabee is concerned is his attempt to use his authority to influence law enforcement for his own benefit. Sound like any other Arkansas politicians you know?
No, it happened when the boy was 17.
Didn’t you have parents?
School’s for only 3 r’s not 4.
Don’t blame the schools for your parents failure to instill a decent regard for living things.
parents = parents’
He looks like Fat Tuesday.
