Teacher calls police after Guns N' Roses karaoke scare

School custodian's rendition of 'Welcome to the Jungle' prompts police call

2 hours, 54 minutes ago

ROXBURY, Conn. - State police say the teacher at Booth Free School barricaded herself inside a classroom Wednesday when she mistook someone singing a Guns N' Roses song over the public address system for a threat.

Six troopers and three police dogs showed up and found three teenagers, one of them a custodian at the school, who had been playing with the public address system.

Police say one of them sang "Welcome to the Jungle" into the microphone. The song contains the lyrics "You're in the jungle baby; you're gonna die."

The teenagers were cuffed for about 15 minutes while police investigated. They didn't realize anyone else was in the school at the time.

This is what one gets when you have touchy feely liberal Democrat pussies as teachers.

Well, I do recall a certain fourth-grader who was called into the Principals office. While waiting for Mrs. DeVries to return this self-same fourth-grader picked up the handset and started singing (I can’t get no) Satisfaction (which happened to be in current rotation at the time).

That fourth-grader didn’t know that the mic was live and being carried to every classroom in the school. Man, did that take a long time to live down!

Karaoke... GNR's "Out to Get Me" off of Appetite or anything off Slayer's "Seasons in the Abyss" disk... that will shake up Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.

No eyes / ears left unbleeding.

Rock, be rocked, or step aside (as Z-Rock's Mad Max Hammer and Bolt Dude use to say).

BY COINCIDENCE, I actually was listening to Paradise City while going to work. LOL

Cant blame the 911 caller, BUT then again singing “Welcome to the Jungle”? ...the kids must’ve really sucked with their AXL version.

Could have been worse. She could have mistaken it for singing.

The way this teacher responded it would have been interesting if boys had done Barry White karaoke instead.

Calling a song a “classic” and a former “hit” are two different things.

C'mon, how can you say that Appetite is not one of the best overall albums of the last 30 years?

Appitite for Destruction is one of my favorite hard rock CDs from the late 80s. I still remember where I was when I first heard "Welcome to the Jungle."

I was just thinking of this; Motley Crue's Too Fast For Love was released 26 years ago almost to the day and Girls, Girls, Girls is already 20 years old.

Seems like just yesterday when I heard them all for the first time. My, how time flies.

Apparently, a lot of teachers do.

I heard it a few months ago on the local classic rock station and cringed (because of the time/years not the song). :-)

I was listening to Heart’s Greatest Hits and Aerosmith’s Pump today to and from work. That’s about 27 years ago for the former and 19 years for the latter. They just don’t make music like they used to.
