Good morning and (((HUGS))) EG. Kind of a dreary day with the storm moving this way. Got a few things to do before heading out for the holiday luncheon. Which make it a short Canteen day.

Whatz up with you?

The City of Westminster – the London Borough which encompasses the West
End Theater District and government buildings such as Parliament –
launched last week what it described as the first service in the United
Kingdom to help people find their nearest public loo using mobile phone
location technology.

SatLav is a play on words for the term used in the UK for consumer GPS
receivers – SatNav – and the word lavatory – for toilet. But SatLav
works by determining the location of the nearest public toilet for a
desperate user by triangulation with nearby mobile phone towers.

Well, today is the only opportunity I have to wash the stuff in the basket.

There is more snow in the forecast so We're getting ready.

This time it's snow, not freezing rain. (fingers crossed)

They're still recovering from the ice storm in other parts of the state.

During the late 1960’s, I saw a television program that featured a group of soldiers in Vietnam singing their own version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” which mocked the periodic cease fires that the Communists routinely violated. It went like this:

On the fifth day of truce time, old Ho Chi gave to me
five mortar rounds
four Viet Cong
three Chinese
two rocket rounds
and a sniper in a palm tree.

Favorite Christmas Song???

Too many to choose from!
I have two shoeboxes full of Christmas CDs, but the kids seemed to like WCBS-FM (local oldies station -- the CD can be found around the country with different call letters) Christmas Songs Vol 2, which not only includes Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, but also, "Domenick the Donkey" by Lou Monte (he's an Italian donkey, he's not the donkey that carried Mary or anything like that) and "Donde Esta Santa Claus?", which is just fun.

Among the dumbest songs (renditions): Mariah Carey's version of "Joy to the World". What's so bad about it?
Seriously -- it's the Three Dog Night song. I'm not kidding.

G'morning, beach.

Looks like I only get to race you for the next couple of weeks, and I get to let Luv have all the nighttime 50s.

My PC is in the shop for 7-10 days being overhauled.

This also means I'll be missing out on most of the images and all the music for the duration. Oh, well.

I agree. It’s a great anointed song. I love Christmas, too. Just wish my family was around more on special holidays.

TSO’s ‘Sarajevo’ is good, too.

I have their Angels album. I never could get a copy of the rock opera that Sarajevo was originally a part of (it wasn't a Christmas album). It was originally recorded by a group named Sabotage, and I believe that it was called "Tears of the Gargoyle". I only remember this because I liked the "prologue" from the liner notes that went with the song.

HOLIDAY song? Not CHRISTMAS song? Why do you hate baby Jesus so much?

Well, some of those Eight Crazy Nights songs are kinda cool . . .

And Kyle and Cartman have a couple of good songs on the South Park album (not recommended for family listening -- but some songs are funny -- funnier when they're bleeped).

I recently picked up the Barenaked Ladies Christmas album — not the greatest. Other than inserting “Batman smells, Robin laid an egg” into their rendition of Jingle Bells, it was pretty much forgettable. Not what I was expecting — of course, given BNL, you really don’t know what to expect in the first place . . .
