COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The man who killed four people at a church and missionary training center died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound, police said Tuesday.
Matthew Murray, 24, was struck multiple times by a security officer at New Life Church Sunday but died after firing a single shot at himself, the El Paso County Coroner's Office concluded after an autopsy.

No, but the 2 chief's refused to give a definite ID to the gun/round that caused his death yesterday. That didn't make sense, but in light of this it does. Looks like he was carrying a shotgun, not a rifle.
One of my regular prayers of thanksgiving is that I have never had to do that. I am perfectly well aware the taking of human life is a stain on the soul that can only be lightened by many tears, or covered with thick callous.
He must have been hit by at least one shot. Most reports have Ms. Assam emptying her gun at the perp while walking towards him in the hallway.
He was definitely down, and then perhaps shot himself fatally. The fact that he was taken down by that brave woman is not in dispute.
Somehow I knew they would spin it like this. I have a different take on it. They probably did it just in case “someone” would try and sue her. I was already waiting for that. I think it’s a bunch of BS.

Ms. Hassam wounded him and stopped the attack. Once the little maggot knew his attack was over, he ended his life. She is no less of a hero. If the MSM tries to belittle her heroism we need to blast them.

While I'm sure we won't get the info, I'd like to know what kind of "armor" he was wearing, what caliber gun she had, where her bullets hit and what weapons he had on him.
This "suicide" blurb was the first I heard he had a shotgun.
Towards the end of the article, it says she was fired for lying.
Looks like she swore at a bus driver during an incident on the bus
So maybe she lied in saying during the inestigation that she didn’t
actually swear.
Some big-city buses do have survellance cams on board; maybe there
were also recorders about this bus?
(Or a lip-reader revealed Assam swore after just watching a surveillance tape?)
It will be interesting to hear “the rest of the story” from Ms. Assam.

Most cops I know are pretty lousy shots. Those Florida cops took 168 rounds to kill ONE guy. Outrageous.
There is no question that he would have killed until he ran out of ammo. You don't bring 900 rounds to a suicide.
How she’d be viewed as anything short of heroic is beyond me, bus incident or not.
Not if he had 1,000 rounds of ammo. That would be an entire CASE of ammo. Tijeras_Slim and I are discussing that now.
What’s interesting to me about that is that she was fired. Wouldn’t a reprimand be more in line with the offense? There must be more to the story.

What can you expect to come from a PD that was shown up as a bunch of fools by a single girl with a handgun against an armored assailant with an AR-15 and its arsenal?
Sure, a lot of department he-man, tommy-taser detectives have the red-eye over being out-policed.
From the Colorado Springs Gazette - “A backpack worn by Murray held 1,000 rounds of ammunition for the rifle and two pistols he was carrying and several smoke grenades, police said”.
No shotgun mentioned until today.
