Hey, wasn't Red Skelton show on in the '70s?

The series originally aired in a half-hour format on NBC. Despite an outstanding first year in which his show was ranked fourth in the Nielsens and won two Emmy awards, the series' ratings toppled in its second season. When NBC canceled the show, it was immediately picked up by CBS, and The Red Skelton Show became a Tuesday night staple from 1954 to 1970.

Whew! Thought I'd messed up. I'm not checking on Bill Cosby's stand up; I remember hearing it on vinyl record albums, so HAS to be 1970's.

Morning Mrs. N, yeah he could make you laugh without swearing too. Some things he said, the way he said them...still makes me grin remembering his act.

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION

The light of God surround you
The love of God enfold you
The power of God protect you
The presence of God watch over you
Wherever you are, God is,
And all is well.
Amen.

BLESS THIS HOUSE
 Bless this house O Lord we pray; Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout, Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall, Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright, Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there, with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within, keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we May dwell O Lord with thee.

Well, not necessarily my favorites, but I just happened to remember those two guys a long, long, long time ago when their routines were decent (and funny).

Yup.

I liked his Dentist visit act.

One day after I had just gotten back from the dentist with my gums still numb my kids were watching one of his live shows and what happened to be on...the Dentist visit act.LOL.

I had to laugh so hard I was hurting.
