NEW YORK, December 10, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation and Priests for Life have jointly announced the establishment of the "International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters" ("Terri's Day"), to be observed each year on March 31, the date of Terri's death.
The purpose of the day, the groups explained, is to foster education, prayer, and activism regarding discrimination against the disabled, and advocacy for people in situations similar to what Terri and her family faced.
Fr. Frank Pavone said, "Those of us who were with Terri will never forget her life and her death. For the sake of all the vulnerable, it is critically important that those who never knew Terri likewise remember the lessons that God taught us through her."
Suzanne Vitadamo, Terri's sister, adds, "No family should ever have to witness what my family witnessed, watching a loved one slowly dehydrate to death. We want Terri's day to remind us all that persons with disabilities are never burdens and should be treated with nothing but our unconditional love and compassion."
In the early weeks of 2008, educational and prayer materials will be released that can be used by parishes, disability and pro-life groups and all communities to observe Terri's Day.

If they were ever asked, they would hem and haw. Saying it's not is not supported by evidence (you know it's only true to libs if it's about global warming?)
There's no yes or no to that question, baby or not? It's a baby, dumb dems! Maybe if there was a profit motive for life instead of for the mills who fund their campaigns.
Champions of killing is what Obama, et al really are.
How can you be anti-abortion and pro-euthanasia like so many gop candidates are?
It is absurd. They have all claimed to be anti-abortion and pro-euthanasia. )EXCEPT for Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Alan Keyes, Sam Brownback.
Vote for the anti-abort/pro-euthanasia candidates. For and against life in the same candidates. Absurd.
Rudy's pro-abort and pro-euthanasia. I can't support that.
Is Jamie Lynn Spears having a baby or not? Maybe if the dems are given a real example from the news to ponder.
It is a light news day, the only items being inane drivel from the lefties...
Our thoughts now are on Christmas.

A Peabody mom is charged with murdering her baby girl who had been returned to her care after the Department of Social Services twice took custody of the child last year.
Jennifer Ward was arrested Friday in Kennebunkport, Maine, where she is being held on fugitive from justice charges, after an Essex County Superior Court indicted the mother for shaking her baby to death, said Steve O’Connell, spokesman for Essex County District Attorney Jon Blodgett.

After the mother again worked with DSS, the child was returned for a second time. DSS refused last night to say what date they returned Jocelyn the second and final time, only that it was months before her death.
“We’re not discussing specifics,” said Nangle, who refused to say why the agency wouldn’t release the information. “It is what it is.”
DSS has come under withering fire in recent years for bungling a string of child abuse cases, including those of Dontell Jeffers, a 4-year-old who was beaten to death while in foster care; Haleigh Poutre, an abused and brain damaged girl who made a stunning recovery as the agency prepared to remove her from life support; and Rebecca Riley, 4, who died of a prescription drug overdose, though the family had numerous visits from a DSS case worker................

With a bevy of candidates on both sides, serious-minded voters understandably seek to get beyond dollar-driven celebrity glitz and pandering punditry. It turns out, the same folks who brought us Christmas are happy to provide what amount to shopper's guides.

Ever since the Moral Majority rose to prominence during the Reagan years, Christian churches in the USA have produced an array of voters' guides for the politically perplexed. Like those produced by advocacy groups ranging from the National Rifle Association to Planned Parenthood to Sierra Club, these guides often present documented and well-reasoned perspectives on issues voters should consider when choosing to support a particular candidate or party.

Voters' guides also abound in Roman Catholic circles. "Voting with a Clear Conscience" by priestsforlife.org's Father Frank Pavone is a good example. He gained national prominence as the spiritual adviser to Terri Schiavo's parents and argues that when it comes to abortion and euthanasia, it's a matter of choosing between God and government. Then there's the group Catholics in Alliance's "Voting for the Common Good," which urges a nuanced interpretation of Catholic ethics, which might admit reproductive choice or assisted suicide under the umbrella of the greater social good......................

Luke 2:
15 And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us.
16 And they came with haste: and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.
17 And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child.
18 And all that heard wondered: and at those things that were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
Haleigh, may this day be blessed for you, and may joy come into your life...
The drama continues around her even on this day.
SPRINGFIELD - Documents released yesterday in the Hampden Superior Court child-abuse case against Jason D. Strickland refer to his former lawyer's claims of judicial bias, friction between himself and the judge, both of whom have since withdrawn from the case, and allegations that lies were told regarding the medical condition of the victim...............

Scratch the surface of Alan Keyes' record on any issue, and you will find down deep the same thing you thought you were dealing with in the first place. What you see and hear is what you get.
There is a Republican candidate for president who has promised to issue an executive order protecting the unborn within five minutes of taking office, but does National Right to Life endorse him? No. They choose a figment of the mainstream media who wants to send the "issue" back to the states, and who doesn't believe that Congress should have intervened in defense of Terri Schindler-Schiavo — after having to be reminded what that case was all about — instead.
This entire dynamic is summed up, it seems, in the voluntary sidelining of Dr. Dobson, who indicated a while back that he will not vote at all, or will vote third party, if no suitable Republican candidate emerges. The only problem is that that candidate emerged in mid-September, when Alan Keyes announced that he is officially running. Why are our guys apparently accepting in theory, and acting on in their campaign alignments, the liberal media's premise that there is "no one" for us "to vote for" this time around?...........
Compromise, industrial strength

Merry CHRISTmas to my pro-life friends!
In this season as we wish hope and joy, a little light shines.

Haleigh Poutre of Westfield was 11 years old when her photograph appeared almost daily in this newspaper accompanying stories about her abuse and the failure of the state to protect her.
She is smiling.
That smile was in stark contrast to the details of the alleged abuse contained within the news stories reporting on her case.
A commission appointed to investigate her case concluded that she was a victim of "systemic failure on all levels, public and private."
"What happened to Haleigh Poutre ... should not have happened and did not have to happen," the report said.
Poutre was admitted to a hospital on Sept. 11, 2005, and the report investigating her case was released on March 21, 2006.
Today, as the calendar nears 2008, there still have been no significant reforms or changes in child-care protective services in Massachusetts in the wake of the Haleigh Poutre case.
For that reason, the decision by Gov. Deval L. Patrick to create the state's first Office of the Child Advocate is welcome news.
Children such as Poutre will now have an advocate, an independent and unbiased voice to keep track of their cases and advise the governor whenever there is a tear in the safety net so that it can be fixed.
These children need an adult who will not fail them, as so many have in their young lives.
The office will have none of the authority given child advocates in other states, such as the power to issue subpoenas and hold public hearings.
Girl with big smile should spark change

Sixteen-year-old Javona Peters sat up in bed at Montefiore Medical Center the morning of Oct. 17, smiling and chatting, ready for her operation.
"I want to come out of there the same way I'm going in," the bubbly high school junior teased her doctor.
"Don't worry, you will," the surgeon replied.
A few hours later, Javona was without most of her brain function - forever blind, deaf, unable to move, talk, think or eat on her own.
Her heart still beats and she can breathe with assistance, but she is in a persistent vegetative state, much like Terri Schiavo or, a generation ago, Karen Ann Quinlan.
And now - like them - she is the subject of an impending court battle, one that will pit father against mother over whether to let their daughter die................

FYI: As mentioned here before, coma and pvs patients are RECOVERING after Ambien. What a shame Terri had no chance to try a new drug like Ambien but she was already alert and aware. She just needed competent care instead of the bad guys always working to kill her.

Not.
Miracles do happen.
But our snow is BEAUTIFUL! :)
I heard Rush Limbaugh’s guest host today lump Charlie Crist with NONconservative Republicans, like Gov. Arnold, et al.
Rush is in a battle royale with Huckabee today too. Huckabee cannot control his campaign operatives, similar to Hilary’s shortcomings. The Limbaugh-Huckabee is just heating up. Go, Rush. Huckabee always seems to be hiding something. It’s just an impression he gives off.
Crist is another Ahnold without the big biceps. The dems like Crist though, they go for bachelor, playboy types who kick Jeb’s staffers around or out of a job. He and Jebbie do not see eye to eye. Neither does Spkr Rubio and Crist. In a new race, Rubio would beat Crist. Rubio would get the Hispanic vote cuz he’s a Cuban conservative. (kind of a new designation: Cuban conservative.) You heard it here first by FV before the pundits with radio and tv deals use it. Thank me. lol
